From a Packer perspective, Hopefully this is the week Starks gets the majority of the carries and Grant is only used sparingly. Not that Grant has done anything wrong, but Starks is clearly the better back and needs to get more touches.
It really isn't that smart to bench Soriano and Byrd too often either. Those are guys that the Cubs are counting on next year as well and getting them upset isn't the right way to do that. Soriano has had 4 days off already in Septmber and Byrd has had 3. That's a lot for them. Colvin's in a tough spot. His at-bats against right-handers have been taken by LaHair, and it doesn't do him much good to play mostly against left-handers. Add to that he hasn't really proven that he deserves more at-bats (he had time in AAA to prove that and failed) and it's just been hard to get him in there. Do you really think veterans like Byrd and Soriano really care this late into the season if they are playing or not?

According to Len & Bob the Brewers can't clinch in Chicago now. Nope. They win tomorrow and St. Louis losses tomorrow. It will be down to 2 and the Brewers and Cubs play at 1:20 pm on Wednesday while the Cardinals play a night game.
Couldn't agree more. I do think we had about 4 or 5 plays against Carolina that if it wasn't Cam Newton we get a sack out of the play. Clay can't do it all. But I do think if they do blitz more it will give our secondary a chance to step in front of a Jay Cutler pass and make a play.
Remember, the Pirates traded him because he had gotten expensive (not cheap, anyway) I remember that, it's just doesn't feel like its been 14 years. And more of the "I am getting old" statement.
Nick Collins out for the year sucks so bad. Bigger than any injury we had last year on defense. The worst part is Green Bay was getting shredded in the secondary BEFORE Collins got hurt. Before the year I picked the Bears to win this game. Collins going down is huge. And it's not like I don't think Green Bay can't win, I just don't like their chances this weekend.
Thinking about making the trip down to Wrigley the last 2 games. Brewers magic number is at 4 and I have no idea if I will ever get the chance to see my team (baseball) clinch a division title again.
