  1. there's the baserunning we've come to know and love
  2. was that a strike em out throw em out...haven't seen one of those from our boys in years
  3. Lee and Aramis will both go deep today. Hopefully Marshall goes deep into the game... Hill and Jones!! marshall and theriot
  4. looks like it might rain checking out the radar. hopefully we can be up one nothing after the 5th and not let the bullpen take a dump in their bed
  5. soriano's love for the leadoff spot is about the most [expletive] thing ever. the only time leadoff matters is in the first inning. after that you are trying to set up your 2-5 hitters with a baserunner who is versatile. ryan theriot should be batting there everyday. with soriano being a bit gimpy, theriot is just as likely, if not more so, to swipe a bag here and there than the fonz. that and theriot actually takes pitches.
  6. He'd hinted in his pregame comments the previous day that he might intentionally get kicked out of a game. He just saw that call as his opportunity. What I think is bull is the idea that a player can physically assault a teammate without getting suspended, but a manager can't kick dirt on an umpire. it's not about kicking the dirt. that mouthbreather at 3rd told the head umpire that lou kicked HIM. now, i'm assuming almost every single one of us was watching that game and i saw lou kick dirt all over him, but at no time did i see lou boot him in the leg. if lou had initiated contact there would've been an immedeate escalation in the umpires demeanor, of which there was none. the only contact i know of was when fat boy put his hands all over lou. if lou was going to kick his hat or some more dirt and someone got in their way, that's no fault of his. mlb needs to take a good hard look at this. if the allegations are proven to be false someone needs to get joey crawford'ed for this.
  7. absolutely! theriot is our leadoff hitter. we should have murton hit 2nd, soriano 3rd, lee 4th, ramirez 5th, jones 6th, barrett 7th, derossa 8th, pitcher 9th. the fonz would see nothing but cheese in that third spot knowing they gotta get him out b4 the man comes up
  8. murton's a red head...he's perpetually angry
  9. why can't they have both? they aren't on the clock anymore. i know TONS of places that allow an afterwork cocktail in the office. how many law offices have you been to in which one of the partners has a bar in their office? just about every one i've ever been in does. what about drinking at a company golf outing? does a company not assume the exact same liability at a work function during business hours as a clubhouse does post game? there are several examples of alcohol consumed in the workplace. this is just a kneejerk reaction to a known drunk and drug abuser slamming into the back of a tow truck. just the cardinals out ruining things for the rest of the world. i'm amazed that the hippocrites didn't ban alcohol in the city of st. louis after tony got all hammered and decided an intersection would be a good place for a nap. i'm actually impressed by the number of teams that have decided to stick to their guns on the subject. how many guys have gotten too loaded in the clubhouse and killed themselves? none that i know of.
  10. i worked in sports for four years at several different levels. regardless of what level you are at, beer is almost always provided to the players, either in the lockeroom/clubhouse after a game. we always had beer on the bus/plane too. it's commonplace in any sport and to ban it is ridiculous. you ask those players to go out there and bust their ass and all most want at the end of a game is a beer, and now that can't have it. cardinals ruin everything. can't wait to see what gets banned next when another one of those dumbasses die.
  11. when did rolen get traded to the nats?
  12. anyone see that fan dump beer on that outfielders head in the corner?
  13. my rally cap ale worked. now i need a don't f it up ale
  14. huge...he's an everyday guy. no question about it
  15. let's do this fonz...chicago will love u
  16. i just cracked a "rally cap ale" by pete's wicked ale...doing my part
  17. as a RELIEF pitcher it's your job to come in warmed up
  18. if he does u can bet it'll be opposite field
