    Oh yeah, if this trade happens, my wife isn't going to be happy with me... She bought me a Prior Jersey a few years ago for my bday, and before she bought it she asked who I'd like to get one of.. I told her Aramis Rameriz.. She asked if he was going to be on the cubs for a long time (at the time I wasn't sure if the cubs would sign him) So I said I wasn't sure, but I told her that Prior would be there for ever and that he was my second favorite player, so I got the Prior jersey..... Doh!

    I'm sure this has been spoken about, but I have not seen it.. What I don't understand is that Hendry could have just signed him 2 years ago, but we did not want to spend the money, so now, we are going to spend the money, trade one of the best pitchers in the league and one our best up and coming pitchers for somethign we could have just had 2 years ago and not cost us any players? Hendry is running this team into the ground the past 2 years...

    so, let me get this straight, this offseason the cubs have given a 2 year deal to a career 5+ ERA pitcher and a 2 year deal to a ss. with a career OBP of barely over .300? And also there is talk of trading Todd Walker who is a career .300 avg hitter? I'm not sure I see the logic in any of these moves? I've just about had it with this team.. 2006 is going to be 2005 all over again, but maybe even worse... This team has the highest or one of the highest payrolls in the NL and we waste our money on crap like this? And with Dusty at the Helm, our #5 starter will be Rusch and our starting SS will be Perez, Joy! Oh yeah, how could I forget the talk about Hendry AND Baker getting extentions? so this crap could continue for another 2 or 3 years....

    Starting Blake will not salvage the season. Orton isn't the reason they lost.. They never give the kid a chance to throw. You can only run so many times til they stop it.. Its the same offense they've had the last how many years, run on first, run on second, if its under 3rd and 5, you run on 3rd, if its over 3rd and 5, then you throw a little 4 yard out pass, its the same crap over and over. I thought there offensive play calling was horrible!. And how many penalties did they have? This team is bad, but Orton is not the reason... Also, Orton looked great in the preseason, thats when they were calling aggressive plays and playing to win.. Now that the season is started, they are handcuffing this offense, they are playing not to lose, and that never works.. It makes me angry! I wish they'd actually play to win just once..

    I'd root for the Cards, only because every team I ever root for always loses.. I'd like to see the winner of the series between the Redsox and Whitesox win it all.. I like the Redsox and the White sox are a chicago team, and I'd like to have a chicago win, even if its not the cubs.

    And I'd like to add, that if Angelo listened to all the experts and signed Warner or Fiedler, they'd be no better off. George doesn't guarantee a thing. Stick with Orton. The goal is the super bowl, not to sneek into the playoffs. If Orton gets them there great, but I'd rather learn what they have at the position, and be in a position for a real competition in 2006 than hope George gets them 8 wins and then start all over again next year. I hate all of this Jeff George talk, if he's so great, then why hasn't any team picked him up in the last 3 years? I'd rather let Orton play the full year, he's almost as experience now as Grossman is..

    Speaking of McClendon, the Detroit Sports Report says he might be hired as a bullpen coach. Also, according to Danny Knobler, who writes for the Grand Rapids Press/Mlive.com: That was posted by Knobler on the MLive.com Tigers forum. Its also in the tribune this morning about Rothschild.

    Dude, I have to save my pen for the playoff push.. You know man, I didn't want to over work them, and the bench is pretty tired from a long season. This is when I turned the game on was when Maddux was coming up with 2 outs and with a one run lead in the top of the 5th.. I thought to myself. Its the last game of the year, you could use everyone in the pen to get this win, I guess Dusty didn't want to over work the pen?
