  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4522843 Aren't they notorious of accusing everyone they face for cheating when things aren't going well for them?
  3. Laird should've done a better job of masking the signs. Whenever that's happening don't they meet at the mound and talk to each other and say "The 4th sign is the pitch I want you to throw" and then he cycles through like 5 pitches in order to prevent signs stealing? Laird did a crappy job of preventing it from happening.
  4. I'm 652nd... ouch... but at least all my players are positive... and some have gotten REALLY bad... C Nick Hundley - 21 1B Casey Kotchman - 30 2B Freddy Sanchez - 29 3B Brandon Inge - 42 (lol, he was like -35 two months into the season) SS Marco Scutaro - 8 (the only guy who hasn't completely sucked all year) LF Felix Pie - 10 (not enough playing time) CF Michael Bourne - 34 RF Jeff Francouer - 49 P Kris Benson - 30 P Daniel Cabrera - 24
  5. Thank you for those. He's a funny dude. I'd like to see a tyeam with him, Z, and Ichiro on it. That would be fun
  6. I didn't realize it was that bad. Perhaps it is a downgrade... If we didn't have Soriano booting lazy rollers in the outfield and we had someone who was actually a decent defender out there, I'd take Hawpe over Bradley in a heartbeat for RF still. But with Soriano being a doofus out there having two terrible defenders at the corner OF spots would suck. We put up with Soriano's defense because he (usually) provides good offense, but he's been crap this year, and if he continues that trend next year we couldn't afford to bring in a defender like Hawpe. Sad. His bat would be so good nestled in there behind Derrek and Aramis. I'd put up with one crappy outfielder, but not two.
  7. Downgrading at two positions and getting more expensive? Where do I sign? Brad Hawpe is a downgrade over MB? Hawpe is great. He's actually hit more HR away from Coors this season, and his home/road splits for his career are virtually identical. He'd be a great addition to the Cubs, and far greater than Milton Bradley. We downgrade at 1B on a purely production #'s standpoint. Helton's power is zapped, but he is still a guy who will get on base at a .400+ OBP. He'd be a good #2 guy in the lineup. But we'd lose a big bat in Lee, and Helton costs way too much, even if he does get on base at a good clip.
  8. Indeed you do. An early congratulations to you, sir.
  9. Sure does! Thanks.
  10. Upton is exempt. That was a transfer error on my part. Good catch. Feliz can be kept wherever you'd like, but he still has MiLB eligibility. Ian Kennedy has surpassed 50 career IP and cannot be kept on your minor league roster. Blanks did indeed exceed the limit and this is his frist exemption. Minor League roster expansion does not occur until the draft. Gracias. Since the MiLB season is over does that mean Kennedy needs to be moved to the MLB roster since he's surpassed his limit? Also, are we still free to add minor leaguers if we have space, or can we not add anyone unless it's via a trade?
  11. Ah thought it was 150. Reid is still a minor leaguer but Nelson would not be exempt. No worries, I initially thought it was 150 as well until I just checked about 30 minutes ago :)
  12. Rules state 130AB is the cut off for exemption clock to begin, fwiw
  13. 1) How is Justin Upton not exempt? This will be his 3rd year of being kept... Kept after 07 - year 1. Kept after 08 - year 2. Kept after 09 - year 3. This should be his last year of exempt status 2) Neftali Feliz will be on my MLB roster, not my MiLB roster. Ian Kennedy is on my MiLB roster. Not a big deal. 3) This is actually Blanks' first year on his exemption clock. He had 148AB, over the 130 limit. Matusz and Feliz are the ones who are still MiLB eligible, but I'm keeping them on my MLB roster. 4) Also, I thought we were upping the MiLB roster sizes to 10 players. Or is that starting as soon as we do next year's draft and it will remain 8 until then?
  14. Didn't see this posted anywhere... http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4515343 There's audio of it on the link
  15. He left Jesus Christ and Ghandi off that list
  16. He's only 68? He looks like he's 90
  17. If the team has no shot at winning next year (or at least looks like it midseason), I wonder if he'd waive his NTC if we were to trade him to a contender so long as he agreed not to opt out of his contract if he were traded. Imagine the haul we could get for Aramis Ramirez at the trade deadline next year if he's healthy and producing like he normally does.
  18. He didn't step up his game a bit the last time he was able to opt out. But he did play in 157 games, the most he's ever played in a Cubs uniform, when at the time he was always getting injured and missing a few games at a time because of nagging leg injuries. Perhaps he played through some of the pain that year, which he may try and do next year provided he doesn't have another freak injury like he did this year? Proving he's healthy enough to withstand a full season while providing the production he's already capable of will be impressive enough to possibly warrant opting out. The whole reason his numbers are skewed are because of injuries. 2006 also career bests in HR and RBI
  19. Next year is a potential walk year for Ramirez. I know the walk-year production is a myth, but still... if he wants to opt out and test the free agent market, he might step up his game a bit next season
  20. He sits at 206 now. 204 was his record last season. Not too big of a deal, the guy's producing big... but thought it was worth mentioning
  21. His vision can't be the reason they voided it. Can't lasik or simply contact lenses fix that crap? It had to have been something bigger than that
  22. Not too far back, but there's too little time. Unless Andre Ethier and Chris Iannetta decide to hit 20 home runs next week a piece, I'm done.
  23. Zambarno invented the zamboni, which coincidentally Zambrano loves to ride. Xylophone.
  24. Really? Was Thomas Diamond the best candidate to be released? We couldn't DFA So Taguchi who serves no purpose?
