Spend copious amounts of money to show their fans they are going for it all. Start giving up after 3 1/2 months of mediocrity and piss in their fans faces. Stay classy, Marlins (read: Jeff Loria). Although Guillen should've never been hired in the first place, but this is still just another ridiculous note in this past year for the Marlins

Seeing as how it is now the AM and I am just not realizing the Cardinals lost, this is fitting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyooCErXdMI

I don't know how they see it, but I see that proposal as us giving up too much for too little.

Wow. Yeah, the Yankees made it one step away from the World Series... time to pull the plug. Bowden is terrible. I once saw him do a fluff piece video blog on Jordan Zimmermann and he made sure to mention that he was the one who had the foresight to draft him. He's a douche.

Is the major appeal of Reddick team control?

Red Sox hired Farrell away from the Blue Jays as their next manager. http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/8532135/boston-red-sox-hire-john-farrell-next-manager

    Uhhh... yes?

Can we just get someone like Monte from Major League?

Buster Posey and Fernando Rodney win Comeback Players of the Year, respectively. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8524928/buster-posey-san-francisco-giants-fernando-rodney-tampa-bay-rays-win-comeback-player-awards

I could get on board with that, though he's mostly an analysis guy on there, not sure how his broadcasting skills are
  12. Clem Fandango
I have an irrational appreciation for Rick Sutcliff. I don't know why, and I don't listen to enough of his ESPN broadcasts to know whether he's a meatball or open minded in the realm of advanced metrics, but I dig his style.

The irony in a Soriano for A-Rod swap makes me chuckle.

In light of the Matt Holiday slide, someone posted this on Reddit of Joe Morgan in the 72 World Series, playing the game the right way and stuff...

Matt Holiday makes a clean play at 2nd... http://cjzero.com/gifs/HollidayScutaro.gif

Oh, and hitting. He has trouble hitting. And for someone who was called "The Greek God of walks" I always wondered why he was never the best in the league at drawing walks. He drew 91 walks in 2006, then never drew higher than 77 in any other year... and he only did that twice (77 in 2007 and 2009).

Petitioning for the Cubs to bid on him this offseason. Can he still play 3rd? As far as I know. He just has trouble staying on the field for a full season at this point

Champagne celebrations have been going on how long? And NOW he wants to do something about it?
  20. Clem Fandango
If there wasn't a second wild card, they would have played out of their minds in September while the Braves tanked (see 2011). A rational fan from another fan base would say "Don't be ridiculous". But I believe that it would indeed go down like that with every fiber of my being.

LOL'ed at this. And I brainfarted like a mofo... "safe the day"? ALCS?!?!?!?! I'm not good at doing simple things when I'm furious
  22. Clem Fandango
I hope all their bottles are filled with acid
  23. Clem Fandango
I think it was just a random goof, people not paying attention. The video shows him getting congratulated regularly right after that like nothing had happened.
  24. Clem Fandango
I personally blame all the people who thought the 2nd wild card was a good idea
  25. Clem Fandango
If the engines on the Cardinals plane went out on their way to San Francisco for the ALCS one of their [expletive] payers would probably hop out onto the wings and manually restart the engines and safe the [expletive] day. I [expletive] hate them.
