  1. Definitely, the team as a whole has been excellent.
  2. Even Soler's grounders up the middle are furious
  3. Not a good result, but it was a 7 pitch AB and Bryant showed good plate patience and pitch recognition, so... silver linings and all that
  4. Mark Grace is every Cubs fan's drunk Uncle.
  5. I get the sarcasm, but the Cubs also let Soler play for like 3 months in the minors with an on again off again sore ankle before they realized he had been playing with shin fracture the entire time
  6. Give Bryant some pointers while you're on the bench, Hammel
  7. Alex Gordon and Matt Wieters were hugely hyped
  8. So Ian Desmond might have the yips. 6 errors in 8 games.
  9. Threw a pitch, then he called the trainer out, everyone gathered around him, Maddon called in Schlitter and he walked off. JD mentioned something about Ramirez walking a little funny on his way out to the mound after his last warm up pitch
  10. And now we get [expletive] Schlitter. Double damnit
  11. Get your Florida out of my Southern League. More just gulf coast weather in general. It's been raining here in Mobile for the last 4 days, and will continue to rain for another 3-4 days. I'm not talking like it's raining a little bit here and there at inconvenient times. It's been raining each day for like 60-70% of the entire 24 hour cycle. It's been [expletive] annoying.
  12. Coghlan is our Zobrist... we've all been deceived.
  13. This is why good bullpens make me optimistic about the Cubs
  14. Our team ERA is about 12th in the NL out of 15 teams, and our OBP is about 10th last I checked. Not sure I feel that's too impressive. There's more to pitching and hitting than just ERA and OBP
  15. Alcantara looked like he slacked on that roller up the middle. Looks liked if he dove for it he would've at least knocked it down.
  16. Is the whole hamstring issue something we still have to worry about like forever? I think it's a little overblown to be honest. He's had some hamstring issues arise over his first couple of seasons, sure, but the big injury was his fracture that kept him out. He had a hammy issue shortly after that IIRC, and the Cubs were just extra cautious with him from there on out which is why I think people think it's a major concern. I really think the leg thing is overblown a bit. Hamstrings get hurt easily in this sport, I don't think Soler is the Mr. Glass of hamstrings at all like a lot of people have made him out to be.
