  1. More amateur stats from Europe: Alessandro maestri in 2005 with San Marino (Italian League): 60.2 IP 23R 20ER 51H (40 singles, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 1HR) 29BB (1 IBB) 24K
  2. I doubt the Cubs will let Guzman start anywhere in 2009, not even in the minors
  3. Just in case you'd like to consider including information on the european amateur careers: Dwayne Kemp (in the Dutch league) 2008 (with DOOR Neptunus): 6G 15AB 5R 7H 2 2B 0 3B 0HR 4RBI 0SO 1BB 1SB 0CS 2007 (with Sparta/Feyenoord): 33G 120AB 25R 40H 12 2B 1 3B 1HR 21RBI 12SO 20BB 12SB 9CS 2006 (with Sparta/Feyenoord): 34G 130AB 10R 35H 8 2B 3 3B 0 HR 7 RBI 15SO 8BB 1 SB 4 CS
  4. Luis Montanez starting for the Cubs assures this is a joke.
  5. isn't he/she supposed to be impartial? 8-)
  6. Some nice matchups in the next CL round :D Chelsea v Juventus Villarreal v Panathinaikos Sporting Lisbon v Bayern München Atlético Madrid v Porto Olympique Lyon v FC Barcelona Real Madrid v Liverpool Arsenal v AS Roma Inter Milan v Manchester United
  7. Yes, but just today they finalized the deal and made it official. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-indians-wood&prov=ap&type=lgns The way that is phrased leads me to believe that if Kerry can stay healthy in either 2009 or 2010, he's looking at a 3/31.5 deal (which is what Jim Hendry said he should get, iirc)
  8. He's a MiLB free agent if I'm not mistaken. He's probably showcasing himself for his next gig. Felix is looking good as he's going out the door. J.Fox is on the 40man and has an option left - I don't think he's going anywhere.
  9. Oguchi Onyewu scored the second goal in Standard Liège's emphatic 3-0 win against Sampdoria Genua yesterday evening, ensuring his team is through to the next round of the UEFA cup. He was rocksolid in defense the entire game.
  10. =D> =D> =D> Time to express our gratitude to the Giants for removing the temptation from Hendry?
  11. +1. I thought it was an old thread that someone bumped So did I. Yet another "let's confuse NSBB even more" move by Hendry.
  12. Neither does Rich Hill
  13. I shouldn't think Veal is much of a risk - certainly not to stick for a whole season. I agree on Atkins.
  14. Looks to me like Hendry takes a calculated risk on Dempster; a lot depends on what kind of option that fourth year is.
  15. So the smart money would be on Hill being exposed to waivers some time before the season starts.
  16. I hope Wood gets that, or something close to that. Sad to see him leave the Cubs, but I wish him all the best.
  17. That's good enough for me, as I think it's unreasonable to expect more on an internet board. My thanks to Donnie for sharing (part of) his info - regardless of what eventually happens.
  18. A somewhat amusing statement from someone whose contributions this month have been limited to bitching about Rich Hill in this thread, and stalking IMB and Derwood in a couple of others (the search feature is a great thing  )
  19. Ouch on Veal. :(
  20. Bad day at the office for both of them. Thanks for posting all these winter baseball scores, Raisin.
  21. And in a positive way too. Nice article, thanks.
  22. It works for me, so yes, by all means, have a go.
  23. Ouch. That line is a bit weird though - smells of lots of E's in the field. Actually, no. There was just one error. Most likely that error should have been the third out and all but one of the runs scored after the error, making them unearned. Thanks for the clarification.
