Frankly, I'm surprised by the default unwilllingness to discuss seriously any POV coming from a conservative, but that's probably because I'm a foreigner. Again, this isn't about conservative vs. liberal. I have never identified, generally, as a liberal. There are others (though in the minority) here like me. Trump is a dangerous monster who is empowering hateful and bigoted people. If that isn't bad enough, he has no idea what he's doing, either. Combining the two quotes to try to clarify the point I'm trying to make: the "traditional conservative" voters have known they were going to get screwed since the end of the primaries; they've had no real hope for over half a year now, and even if they are shocked by the events so far during this transition, they voice their opposition differently (e.g. Evan McMullin has been making some interesting points from that perspective). Other voters couldn't imagine, even in their worst nightmares, any of this becoming reality prior to the morning op 11/09 - the very real feelings of shock and disgust since then are quite understandable, but shouldn't negate the possibilities of others opposing Trump in a different tone. I would assume outright fans of Trump are quite rare on this board (I certainly haven't read any). Anyway, this thread was about the Cubs visit to the White House in the last week of the Obama presidency - I assume the Chicago angle makes both sides quite happy about that.
