  1. no, because Castro is young and good and the Shawon-o-meter was to make fun of Dunston for being old and bad
  2. Oh brother... there's nothing to like about it (besides it's association with winning). so why not have a GOOD song that's associated with winning?
  3. I would gladly have the Cubs go 0-81 at home just to never hear "Go, Cubs, Go!" ever again
  4. the Blackhawks are some kind of hot right now
  5. nice appearance Caridad wish i could get paid thousands of dollars to throw 4 pitches and go home
  6. LF's momentum was taking him towards the infield when the ball got booted, and I'm sure the LF assumed Hanley would give a tad more effort in chasing it down
  7. He not only can, but he should
  8. pretty risky thing to say for a guy with a stress fracture /obligatory
  9. so you see no problem with Soto batting 8th (or not at all) when he leads the team in OBP? (as one example)
  10. Walt Weiss will go 3 for 4 with a walk, scoring on homers by Bichette and Galarraga as the Rockies win 6-1
  11. The sad thing about that run differential is that if you subtract the 11 run drubbing on Opening Day, the Cubs are -3 by 6 games under .500. That's some bad luck. (Even WITH that first game, the cubs are playing 2 games under their pythag)
  12. Cup vs. LBJ......does picking LBJ mean the Hawks can't win the cup next year (in this hypothetical)?
  13. Milledge hit that single on a pitch around his eyes. it wasn't a meatball
  14. never mind, realized it was on WGN just in time to watch Soriano screw up in LF
  15. Bud Selig and his ridiculous blackout rules have saved me from the temptation of watching this game today
  16. Except that's not what he said about Len (though I certainly agree with your general point). Sorry....he said the fans could take or leave him, and that he "doesn't mind him." Either way, Kasper was dismissed by the writer in favor of Brenly, which is ridiculous
  17. I'd flip the time machine switch and go into the future to be at the clinching game for the Cubs next World Series title
  18. link?
  19. It's less about giving up on the team and more about not scheduling my day around the game. If it's on and I'm home, I'll watch, but unlike, say, 2007 or 2003, I'm not stopping my life to catch every inning
  20. the only reason I feel compelled to watch them now and then is that I've already sunk the $300 or whatever into Extra Innings
  21. They sometimes put Brantley on he TV side
  22. Considering that its the 7 and 8 seed, and therefore automatically the worst (seed-wise) possible, yes. lol whoops
