Meh, not really analogous. The minor league players are already playing for the organization you root for, whereas we generally have no idea where the college guys will be going once (if) they're in the pros. It's analogous in that the level of play is far inferior to the "pro" level, and that a small percent of the players will make it to the big leagues. There are also far more ways to have a "successful" season in college. In the NFL, being "division champ" is mostly meaningless, but being Big 10 or SEC champ is worth something. So is winning a bowl game. So is winning a rivalry game. As for fantasy football, I avoid it because I think it would ruin the NFL for me rather than enhance my enjoyment. I'm a Bears fan, so my interest is in Chicago and the NFC North. I don't really care (nor want to care) about every player on every team and who scores X points, etc.
