    Nothing is wrong with hotdogs or El Trains, it's just the lazy "what's the thing that we use every time we have a Chicago game" tropes that reduce a city (and this is any city) to a cliche.

    I don’t know how it plays out, I’d assume Ross will be heavily rumored. I’m guessing they go with the trend of the relatively unknown guy who’s cheap and “goes by the book” and is essentially an extension of the FO in the dugout. I’d assume internally Borzello, Loretta and Venanble will be candidates, would like to keep Hottovy as the pitching coach. Externally I’d be interested in Carlos Beltran. I'm sure PTR would like it to be someone who is already on the payroll. He'll just manage them himself

    why would they settle for him? No idea. I’m sure they’ll look at the Gms from Minnesota, maybe Arizona or Houston....people with somewhat recent success.

    Not strange at all. It signals to potential GMs that the Sox are hiring, and lets them get things started well before the off season. Could we see Jed Hoyer heading to Boston?

    Browns looking an awful lot like the Bears (i.e. great defense, but can't get anything going on offense, and shooting themselves in the foot with a ton of penalties)

    Maddon said the team doctors recommended he sit for two days. I thought the Cubs were going to get swept. So I can't really complain about them losing three of four, although after they won the first one it would have been cool to split. The same team doctors that let Baez play with a hairline fracture?
