  1. Tigers have been brutal. Their pitching is good (3.75ish team ERA) but they cannot hit a lick, and have just 12 team HR's in 31 games. If they were league average in hitting, they'd be at least a .500 team
  2. They have a decent rapport but I feel like Boog kind of ignores some of the stupid horsefeathers Sutcliffe says with a mental eye-roll. Maybe I'm just projecting what I would be doing in that spot, though. Sutcliffe just is really bad at this, vacillating between making a relatively meaningless point he thinks is profound and vocally rooting for Cubs players mid-at-bat, which rubs me the wrong way. Not to mention Harry Caray levels of drunkeness
  3. How it that even a thing? Bye weeks should be contained entirely between weeks 6-12 (ish)
  4. That's a whiffle ball pitch
  5. Texas 83-67 Nebraska 81-68 That’s hilarious. The main difference is a wider range of results for Nebraska. They’ve won 10 games twice and 9 games four times in that span but also had a 3 win season and two 4 win seasons (I’m excluding 2020’s 3-5 record). Texas had only 1 10 win season and 1 9 win season but won at least 5 games every year. It’s too bad they don’t have a decent game this year before they play Bama. Would have been funny for them to have a good 1st win to get people talking about them being back only for them to get tricked by Bama. It’s not just record, but ppg, ppg allowed, etc. All while Texas is pulling five-star recruits and Nebraska has had zero
  6. Was listening to a discussion on college football yesterday where they laid out the fact that since 2009, the University of Texas football program has had nearly identical results as Nebraska, with the major difference being that Texas has far better recruiting classes. It’s a damning indictment on just how bad Texas has been
  7. Not to mention that he’s an insanely boring person with zero broadcast experience Can't be any worse than Chris Collinsworth. He just adds nothing of value to a broadcast. It's like if you put hundreds of sports clichés into a database, gave that database human form and had it set to spout a new cliché every 30 seconds. Which is why Collinsworth isn’t making $35 million per year
  8. So he's going to make more in 10 years as a broadcaster than he will playing in the NFL for 23 (so far) years. Not to mention that he’s an insanely boring person with zero broadcast experience
  9. Trade them all
  10. The Dodger approach at the plate is just leaps better than the Cubs up and down the lineup. They're also faster, better at defense, and superior on the mound. They come in first every year (nearly) and still have a farm system 10x better than the Cubs. It really makes me want to quit baseball
  11. The Dodgers have hit three pitches this inning that the Cubs haven’t hit all year.
  12. Nice to see them get embarrassed on national TV instead of just on local TV
  13. Reds are sweating now...they thought they had that #1 pick locked
  14. It's different here. That's so Cub
  15. How many picks are drawn? At least it gives us a chance at number 1 if the Reds keep up their pace. They haven’t played us yet though so there’s time flip us in the standings I think the lowest the worst team can draft is #4?
  16. Do we have a choice?
  17. Carl Edwards Jr. got a World Series ring from the Braves. His contribution to the team: 0.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 1 HR, 81.00 ERA
  18. Nico with two homers this year, which is two more than I thought he’d hit
  19. Interesting stuff, though I think most folks on here prefer fWAR to bWAR. Not sure that changes much of the analysis, though
  20. I was wrong to think this year would be different.
  21. I think the easier answer is that we swapped one "smartest guy in the room" GM for another
  22. Would t Poles want to fix the O-Line for his new QB? How does this draft help ?
  23. Pitchers learned to just throw him strikes and he'll sit there and look at them And he clearly has a hole in his swing at the top of the zone
  24. I'm sure all these 6th rounders will shore up the O-Line. Fields for MVP
