Just because USC beat them in Week 1? You're arguing that Arkansas going undefeated in the SEC doesn't deserve to be ranked above a USC team that lost to an unranked Oregon St. ? Every game matters. If two major conference teams both have one loss and Team A beat Team B, then why shouldn't Team A be ranked ahead? strength of schedule, conference record, when the game was, etc., etc., etc.

I love how much flack teams in College Football get for scheduling cream puffs in their non-con schedule, but in Basketball, it's like standard operating procedure

hahahaha... yeah I know their best player (Claxton) is out for a few weeks, but give me a break. And to think some people were telling me PSU would make the NCAA tourney this year. DeChelis needs to light a fire and fast. PSU's non-con is so weak that they almost need to run the table there before Big 10 play to have a high enough RPI

Penn State lost to Shippensburg in their final exhibition game. OUCH

Actually if they beat Temple (or when they beat Temple) and Michigan State, they'll be going to the Outback Bowl. That's a real good bowl game... CFN has Penn State playing LSU in that game. If they lose to MSU, then they slide down to some of the middling bowls like the Alamo or Champs Sports Bowl. I feared being paired with an SEC team. I think the Tigers will lay waste to our Nittany Lions Pffft LSU aint gonna put up a lot of points agains the Lions. Now offensively....thats a whole new story. UT has pretty good success with the deep ball and Morelli seems to have a fond liking to chuck it up there, so who knows. Id rather Penn State play in that bowl for the B10 then Purdue. Whats JoPa gonna do now that he cant walk up and down the sidelines making it appear as if he is busy? Dudes 'busy' gig is up. And oh he needs Lasic surgery bad, those are some real coke bottles he is working on. Not as big as Harry's but damn near as thick. Light bends like crazy when you look those things. As long as he can yell at Mike McQueary, he'll be on the sidelines.

Penn State's weird, hard to measure season continues against the lowly Temple Owls. PSU is 6-4, has a terrible offense, but the 4 losses came against teams with a combined record of 37-2. If they had any offense at all they may have upset OSU or Michigan, and definitely could have beat Wisconsin. But they don't, so here we are, assuming they'll beat Temple and hoping they'll beat MSU to at least get a halfway decent bowl bid.

The networks are facing a ratings nightmare. It is a distinct possiblity that they will have to accept Rutgers, Wake Forest and Boise St. into the big games this year. I, for one, think it's great.

Penn State's offense is complete garbage. Didn't see the red zone once all day.

What will the poor baseball writers do when guys like Maddux, Ausmus and Pudge retire? They might have to (gasp) watch some baseball and see who the actual best fielders are!

Yeah, he can step out and hit a 15 footer. A lot of people don't realize how talented James really is, we weren't all guards. I think Ben might be the worst offensive player ever. Still he is very valueable. Dennis Rodman would have to disagree with you there

yep, it's sorta like the Illini team with Head, Williams and Brown. They can shoot 3's all night and midrange jumpers, but have no one to score inside consistently. if one or more of your outside guys get in foul trouble, suddenly the scoring options dry up

Hinrich in foul trouble is generally trouble for the team. Gordon and Duhon just don't create offense as well
