  1. "We are bringing back names on the home uniforms, but they will be across the players' butts. Also, we are moving to the blue pajama shirt full time, with red pants, yellow shoes and pink caps with green bills"
  2. we can always call hin A-Sor Please don't. I'm eagerly awaiting the day when that nickname fad ends. it's useful when you want to call Albert Pujols "A-Jol" though
  3. The blue uniforms are ugly beyond reproach. Also, crying for nameless jerseys while also favoring the blue jerseys is irony on a level that may cause the universe to implode
  4. Is it Sunday yet? No? K, just checking..
  5. That would be great! I am so baseball deprived right now I can hardly stand it. that's why I run a sim baseball league. Gives me baseball year round...

  7. ha, no....my buddy works in the media department. During the season he does the daily game notes, etc.
  8. No link, but my buddy who works for the Nats just told me on IM.
  9. fixed so, so, so disappointing
  10. Penn State loses by 20 on the road in Ann Arbor. Write off this season folks
  11. WOO HOO! MORE SPLIT SQUAD GAMES AGAINST SEATTLE!
  12. I hate Chone Figgins. He's Juan Pierre Redux
  13. I think nameless is fine for teams that have always done it, but the Cubs added names, then took them off, now on again....fine, leave them on. I don't see how it affects anything one way or the other
  14. Aren't they only a game behind? Cleveland at 23-15 Chicago at 23-17 today's paper said 1 1/2, but I think you're right. It's 1 game. Both CLE and DET have played fewer games than the Bulls, meaning they have a slight advantage if it's close down the stretch.
  15. I know it's inevitable that it'll happen, but I don't like when the pollsters put a team higher just because of their schedule for next season. What does that have to do with how good the team actually is? That logic got West Virginia starting off in the top 5 last year which IMO was very suspect at the time. okay, ignore the schedule and go with the fact that PSU basically is graduating one skill player on either side of the ball (compared to the scores of players leaving OSU and ND, for example)
  16. I swear upon all that is holy that you better not be talking about me. I've suffered my entire life watching this team every Sunday, many of those times I was watching in person in the Superdome, and I'll be damned if I'll be called a bandwagon fan, after ALL these years of suffering. it wasn't directed specifically at you, but since you mentioned it.... I'm not saying you're a bandwagon jumper, just saying that we haven't heard about your "lifelong suffering" as a fan until now
  17. Since the Cubs have hosted the ASG (1990), the following cities have hosted: 1991 - Toronto 1992 - San Diego 1993 - Baltimore 1994 - Pittsburgh 1995 - Arlington 1996 - Philadelphia 1997 - Cleveland 1998 - Denver 1999 - Boston 2000 - Atlanta 2001 - Seattle 2002 - Milwaukee 2003 - Chicago 2004 - Houston 2005 - Detroit 2006 - Pittsburgh The Pirates have had it twice The next 3 (Giants, Yankees, and Cardinals) last hosted: San Francisco - 1984 NY Yankees - 1977 St. Louis - 1966 It is weird that they went back to back NL for the first time in forever.
  18. especially since the city just had one a few years back
  19. funny how the saints are good for the first time in forever and suddenly half the board are lifelong NO fans...
  20. it wasn't much of a fight. The other guy just held Giles at arm's length while Marcus swung wildly at the air
  21. Penn State at Michigan. If only this were football.
  22. Don't know if it's been mentioned, but word around the campfire here in PA is that Russ Grimm will be the next Steelers coach. Wasn't he a candidate for the Bears at some point (pre-Jauron or pre-Lovie?) Also, the Dolphins may complete the trade with Alabama, interviewing Mike Shula
  23. Wow, it's only Tuesday and I'm sick of reading about this game. I think I'll steer clear of this thread until gametime
