  1. what happens if the new head coach doesn't want Garrett as their OC? And why would a coach want to take a job when they know another member of their staff is being groomed to take the very job I was considering?
  2. The best thing about Erstad is that he spells his first name correctly. /not that I'm sensitivie about that or anything
  3. The one St. Louis prospect that I never see listed anywhere is 1B Mark Hamilton. I really think he is going to be good....I first saw him at the open practice for the Spikes here last summer right after the draft. He was the last to bat in batting practice and every ball he hit was a rope or a homer. He lead the NYPL in HR last season despite being promoted 1/2 way through the year  Of course, the Cards have some other power hitting 1B who is in AA or AAA now, so they now have two power 1B prospects stuck behind Pujols, who isn't going anywhere.
  4. The Bears are the cheapest franchise in the league. Lovie is the lowest paid coach. You think management is suddenly going to pony up big cash? I think they'd be just as happy to get a compensation package from Dallas for Lovie, promote Ron Rivera, and keep going with their miserly ways
  5. St. Louis' system must be horrible. prospectpower.com has a Top 100 prospects and STL has ZERO on the list. Don't scouts think that Samardjiafjeicadfasa is going to fast track to the majors a la Prior? I've heard him as a 2008 rotation possibility? Maybe that's why he's so high on the list?
  6. Not to mention the tv ratings for the entire postseason. We got a glimpse of the potential in 2003. A World Series appearance would be insane. Should they play the Red Sox or Yankees in it, god know how much money they will be bringing in. money that will be split off to the other teams and then not spent on payroll. You know, sorta like luxury tax money
  7. I have to say, the Illinois arena looks awful on TV. I hate the rounded seating sections where everyone is facing center court. Safety orange is also about the worst school color ever. That said, nice win
  8. which is actually a top 7
  9. Bud has a small market complex.
  10. the national media hates the colts! Seriously, what's with the trolling? You're acting more and more like an Eagles fan every day. The national media has unloaded almost an unprecedented level of hate on the Bears this postseason. To pretend otherwise, or that Bears fans are paranoid for thinking this is just complete ignorance of the facts. The Bears aren't even the most criticized team to play for a title in 2007 - the Florida Gators take that honor, and they take it miles ahead of the Bears. correct. Let's hope the game turns out for the Bears like it did for the Gators
  11. PS2, PS3, XBox, XBox 360, PSP, GBA, Nintendo DS No Wii? get used to it
  12. I actually think college should adopt the spot foul for PI. And you can't get rid of roughong the passer. Why would you give DE's and blitzing LB's incentive for blowing out a QB's knees every chance they get?
  13. I just tied it for the Bears
  14. over/under on # of pages in this thread by kickoff?
  15. I'm not worried about Indy's firepower. The Saints had the best offense in the NFL and scored just 14 today. The key is to force mistakes while limiting your own. Notice how amazingly the Bears hid a shoddy performance by Grossman today. Rex didn't turn the ball over, the defense forced turnovers...game over. I suspect Indy will run the ball a lot. Clearly the Saints went way too heavy on the pass and it cost them. Either way, I'm just glad that my boss is a huge football fan and purposely didn't book any shows at the theatre on Superbowl Sunday  Maybe he'll open the theatre up to the public again and show the game in Hi-Def on the 32 foot movie screen
  16. Loss and loss. Tom Izzo used the Lions for toilet paper today.
  17. back in 1994 or 1995, I got tickets for Opening Day by walking up to the box office an hour before the game. Sat upper deck behind home plate. Frank Castillo took the mound against the Padres. It was like 10 degrees.
  18. PSU hosts MSU today DePaul hosts Louisville
  19. Boston putting Youkilis at leadoff pretty much disproved the "light-hitting, fast 2B/SS/CF hitting #1" myth
  20. On ESPN's current poll question, only 72% of Illinois voters even want to see the Bears in the Superbowl. For SHAME
  21. just don't ask me to spell Coach K's name
  22. "In a landmark licensing deal, Wrigley Field will now be known as Tampax Field at Masengil Park. The deal is binding through 2035"
  23. someone light up the Bruce Signal
  24. Yeah in true, NBC Olympic-coverage style. Show some Grossman baby pictures to give it some extra punch. While playing "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera, or maybe "What I Did For Love" from A Chorus Line...
  25. "We're sorry to inform you that we're already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Season ticket packages still available..."
