  2. just read a little factoid that UNC is the only #1 seed in the tourney this year with a graduation rate over 46% (UNC's is 87%)
  3. i'm watching this on my computer (because my wife has decided that MTV True Life is more important on the HDTV) does anyone else have the issue that every time a new commercial comes on, it opens another browser tab?
  4. Memphis looked scary good last night. not saying i think they'll win it all, but that team is big and fast and MSU had no idea what to do against their defense.
  5. just a reminder for Mizzou to pick just one player
  6. Not that stupid to have the Cardinals in the title game. I did it too. Cardinal. maybe he meant Louisville ;)
  7. Penn State will get pressured into the right hire by boosters. Believe me I think it might take the failure of the first coach to make booster's demand it. Not like they have dealt with demanding a coach ever. my family has lived in State College for 22 years. believe me when I say this. the boosters almost ran Paterno out of his job a few years ago. the school is seeing less and less donation money from alumni. they won't dare risk alienating their donors further
  8. i'm down to one Final Four team (UCLA)
  9. David Stern has publicly stated that he wants to increase the age limit in the next CBA, though he didn't mention an option to skip college
  10. Penn State will get pressured into the right hire by boosters. Believe me
  11. not to mention basketball all weekend
  12. i don't think they did. i think they are allowed to expose the player to waivers before having to return him to the Twins
  13. I vote either "Spanish Flea" by Herb Alpert or "Yackety Sax"
  14. both. the prestige of the program is still mostly intact. i'd go so far as to say top 6. unc duke kentucky kansas ucla iu in no particular order. it's tough for me to argue for or against. i'm not close enough to the situation, but it seems that Indiana hasn't had an "elite" team in a long time, Mike Davis' Final Four run not withstanding. I mean, would you consider Penn State a top 10 prestige job in football? that's a tough one. it's going to be VERY interesting to see what happens when JoePa retires. knowing Penn State, they'll just promote a coordinator and completely rule out the idea of getting a marquee head coach from outside the system

  16. top 10 program, or top 10 coveted coaching position?
  17. Greg Oden is a dumbass
  18. we should sticky a thread charting Dusty's pitcher abuse this year
  19. RynoRules already picked him
  20. Is it still e2s's pick? If so, the dirty b picks Colby Rasmus. yeah, it's still his pick. when is he un-banninated? I PM'ed Rob, btw
  21. Opening Day should be on a weekend so everyone can enjoy it
  22. I tried changing my avatar but after a few minutes of loading got this error:
  23. that's often what happens with new stadiums. extort the city into paying for it, then fall into mediocrity (see: Pittsburgh, Cincy, Seattle, San Francisco, Houston....) St. Louis, San Francisco, and Houston all have hosted World Series games. yes, but the new ballparks were built under the guise of "we can't maintain sustained success without a new park." but imagine if the pirates didn't have a really nice park? how many people would go out and see them lose 90 games a year in toilet known as three rivers stadium? they'd probably be out of business by now. i don't think people go to the stadium now even with a really nice park. which is a shame. it's an amazing park. the truth is Pittsburgh is simply a football city
  24. i had the same, with UCLA over Stanford on the other side
