  1. is anyone else's feed NOT in hi-def? what's this 4:3 crap?
  2. Texas just barely edged out Bama.
  3. that's because the Predictor column is based on margin of victory. Iowa has lost 3 close games but their 4 wins were complete blow outs
  4. and where a non-BCS team cries about not being in the title game
  5. We're through 7 weeks of the season and there are a remarkable number of undefeated teams still hanging around: Alabama 5-0 Ball St. 7-0 Boise St. 5-0 BYU 6-0 Ok. St. 6-0 Penn St. 7-0 Tx. Tech 6-0 Texas 6-0 Tulsa 6-0 Utah 7-0 Now a lot of this will sort itself out in the next few weeks, of course. When Andy posts next weeks thread I'll post the remaining schedules of all the undefeated teams
  6. Meph's point is that Florida missing an extra point doesn't suddenly make them worse than BYU and Utah. That's not too hard to understand. His claim that W-L doesn't matter comes from a predictive point of view. Teams with less losses should not be predicted to win over teams with more losses in every match up.
  7. BYU and Utah haven't lost a game. Those others have. That's what polls go by, not who's better than who. byu and utah will play each other, and each has a game with tcu, who is very good. utah was one of the top 5 teams in the country when alex smith was there; boise st was a top 5 team the year they won the fiesta bowl. yet everyone continues to crap on good teams not in bcs conferences simply because they aren't as athletic. if they're undefeated at the end of the year, I have no problem with them making a BCS game. But to say that and undefeated Utah or BYU team is better than a one-loss SEC or Big XII team after 7 weeks of the season is insane
  8. BYU and Utah haven't lost a game. Those others have. That's what polls go by, not who's better than who. which is why the BCS was invented, because the polls are horrible and wrong why not throw Ball St. in the top 10 too while we're at it?
  9. BYU and Utah are NOT better teams than Florida, Mizzou, Georgia and LSU, regardless of W-L records
  10. And I take it you were actually defending OSU in that thread??? begrudgingly
  11. that OSU vs. SEC/USC thing.....
  12. when it happens in the SEC, it's because every team is so awesome when it happens in the Big 10, it's because the conference is "down" Who says that? Arkansas, State, and Ole Miss suck donkey balls. I doubt anyone would say they are awesome. That's the whole point of saying the conference is ridiculous. who says that? most SEC fans. I should dig out that "SEC vs. OSU" thing I posted several weeks ago

  14. the return of the search function has been the great equalizer at NSBB as for the quote thing, he probably has BBCode turned off in his posts for some reason
  15. interesting that you cling to a scoring system that, while probably statistically most complex, has little to no bearing on the actual rankings or BCS results. interesting that I also cling to the scoring system that, while not politically correct, has the most predicative power. which is what rankings should be...you rank the best teams top to bottom. i'm not saying they're not useful (or that the current rankings aren't completely horrible), but the system is what it is. out of curiosity, how accurate have the Sagarin predictions been this year so far?

  17. can't be; florida isn't #2 or #1a I asked because there's little chance TT gets dropped 4 spots after winning http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt08.htm going into this week 1. usc 2. uf 3. ou 4. ut 5. psu 6. bama im jes saying... that's fine and all, but is the Sagarin one of the computer polls that goes into the BCS formula?

  20. Meph, I assume that's your personal top 25, right?
  21. Craig Sager reporting on how much bubble gum "Tito" Francona chews per game.
  22. So.... 1. Alabama 2. Texas 3. Penn State 4. Oklahoma 5. Florida ?????
