  1. Penn State is going to give some teams problems this year. They're fast, active on defense, and can shoot the 3. They'll have big problems with any teams with size on the front line, though
  2. i'm basing my opinion on watching Ball State this year and knowing that they aren't out-recruiting Notre Dame, Purdue, or even Indiana in-state. Again, I think you're underrating Ball State, and overrating the Big 10 this year. I think Ball State could give everyone but Penn State/Ohio State a game this year. and I don't. Ball State's best players would be Big Ten teams medium level players. 7 or 8 of the Big Ten teams would win the MAC this year (if not more)
  3. time for PSU basketball ETA: not in HD....weak, ESPN

  5. been waiting to use that one for awhile?
  6. west coast not-withstanding, I can't imagine Lee lifting his NTC to go to that crap team He lives in the bay area. i know this. I still don't think he'll trade sleeping in his own bed for playing for a last place team
  7. west coast not-withstanding, I can't imagine Lee lifting his NTC to go to that crap team
  8. Well then...I didn't know that. Looks like the Motor City matchup would be Minnesota - Gophers are tied with Wisconsin for 6th but I assume the Badgers would get more attention for the 6th tie-in. You would have a decent shot against Minnesota, who started hot and then seemed to remember that they were Minnesota about halfway through the year
  9. That's absolutely ridiculous. not really. I watched BSU a few times this year and they did fine against the inferior talent of the MAC. Mediocre Big Ten teams are just more talented than MAC teams. It's hard to argue that.
  10. And you're acting like Ohio State fans are in any way rational. no less rational than any other fan base
  11. they don't decide things, but they express opinions about what's going on. You act like people can't be dissatisfied with a coach regardless of his record.
  12. and after reviewing how much it would cost to buy out weis' contract, i'm guessing. It wouldn't shock me if that played a big part. I was hoping they'd fire Weis just so that they'd tempt Urban Meyer with mega money. It's pretty much the main reason Weis is being kept. If they win less than 9 games next year, I think he's gone, and they'll back a dumptruck full of money up to everyone. Meyer, Saban, Stoops, Belotti, Kelly, whomever. They'd be better to go after a Tressel type of coach (lower division, proven winner = less money) and try to rebuild from the ground up. If Wies's recruiting is up to what the "experts" say it is than whomever replaces him should have a lot of talent to mold. ND fans don't want Tressel (or his type). OSU fans only put up with him because the team wins consistently, not because he's a good coach. As per usual, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Tressel was a proven winner at the lover division and they could get him cheaply AND THAT WAS THE REASON THEY WENT AFTER HIM. They were paying a huge salary buyout for Cooper and could have gotten pretty much anyone for the right price. When he got to OSU he changed the culture of the football team almost immediately. One of his first acts as head coach was to get rid of several high profile players who failed to go to class. After he replicated things at OSU they gave him a nice contract. OSU fans don't put up with him. He's a great coach and he's won at every level. ND and their fans would be well served to find someone like Tressel. You don't listen to Columbus sports radio or read Columbus sports journalism. Tressel recruits well because his in-state competition is several levels below OSU (Akron, Toledo, Ohio, Cincy). His play-calling is terrible and he fails to show the ability to make in-game adjustments. The guy has been successful, but he's not some amazing coach that everyone should be clamoring for.

  14. Do you realize that when people do stuff like this (or, for instance, Andy MacPhail) over and over and over, it doesn't make them look sane or rational? it's his favorite thing to do
  15. Then you would be wrong. http://gopsusports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/lee_sean00.html i stand corrected
  16. Penn State's Sean Lee got a medical redshirt for this season (and he's a senior). Do you have to apply for it prior to your senior season? pretty sure meph is wrong (gasp!) No, He's not eligible for one because he was non-medically redshirted in 2004 by the Zooker. Had that one been a medical redshirt as well, he would have been eligible to petition the NCAA for a sixth year. Lee's medical redshirt was just an old-fashioned redshirt. There really is not such thing as a medical redshirt. You can petition the NCAA for extra ones, provided they're all medical related. i'm almost positive that Sean Lee had already redshirted prior to this year. Next season would be his 6th year
  17. hahaha oh damn i wish i could find that, it seriously was the funniest thing ever ask and you shall receive (i'm somewhat stunned that this still exists, i would've thought that since it was hosted on duke.edu that it would've been taken down long ago) he graduated from duke in 3 years. wonder who was doing his homework for him. same person who was doing boozer's, probably. I'm sure Maggette was doing it for everyone

  19. Tennessee didn't reject Clausen, Jimmy rejected us for ND. Casey and Rick were both good, though. Rick Clausen was not good. neither is Jimmy
  20. guess there are a lot of other stupid idiot GM's this season because this seems to be a trend
  21. Did someone already mention that Dusty Baker wants Wood to come to the Reds? If someone posted it I missed it...
  22. i'd say from his perspective, those were his 10 most successful deals. I can't get mad at the guy for getting as much money for his clients as possible.
  23. good luck winning all those Yahoo Public leagues where the 13 year olds quit after week 2 again
