  1. Rich Hill for Mark Prior straight up
  2. is Tim Hudson injured? TJS gotcha. is campillo still around? he was good last year
  3. so their rotation is something like: Hudson Lowe Jurrjens Vazquez Jo-Jo/Campillo ?
  4. Barry Bonds 2001 couldn't hold his jock EDIT: I stand corrected: CAREER LEADERS (FEAR3) 1. Rice, Jim - 127.9 2. Ruth, Babe - 124.1 3. Bonds, Barry - 120.1 4. Cobb, Ty - 114.5 5. Williams, Ted - 113.0 6. Aaron, Henry - 112.3 7. Pujols, Albert - 111.1 8. Thomas, Frank - 108.8 9. Mays, Willie - 100.6 10. Eckstein, David - 99.7
  5. if Tyrus Thomas is on the floor for 25 minutes and doesn't take a shot, your offense is very, very broken
  6. Nick Saban: "I will not be the coach of Alabama."
  7. i think psu wins either 7 or 8 games the rest of the way, ending up 21-10 or 20-11 going into the big ten tourney. their OOC schedule was such a joke that i think they need to end up a couple of games better and then win at least one game in the big ten tourney. thing is, his projected W's and L's are hard to argue with. He has PSU beating IU twice (duh), then Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan at home. If you want to squeeze out 2 or 3 wins, you're talking about a win @ Iowa (totally doable), then maybe Wisconsin at home or @ OSU. i don't think illinois is as good as they're rated right now; i actually think that penn state should beat illinois here. i don't think any of the home games (including wisconsin and michigan st) are out of reach. the only road games that are basically auto-losses are @purdue and @michigan st. @illinois is probably a loss but for some reason we seem to do okay there. i don't think there are any road games, aside from indiana, that penn state should necessarily be expected to win. You should be favored at Iowa His predictions have PSU losing by 2 @Iowa and by 2 at home against Wisconsin, which basically means two coin flips. By his numbers, PSU could win both
  8. I don't think that will matter in the final analysis. He was dominant for ten years. It shouldn't, but the BBWAA are notorious for penalizing players who "didn't play the right way" or somehow "put a black eye" on the game. It's why we'll never see Albert Belle get serious consideration, not to mention a slew of possible (but never convicted) steroid users

  10. oh god, Eddie Robinson. Hopefully he's not Tyrus Thomas' ceiling
  11. Alomar spit his way out of the HoF, at least first ballot
  12. just because there is a chance that a big name FA won't sign after 2010 doesn't mean you stop preparing for the opportunity. I have no idea how other players view Chicago, and the perception will change over the next 1 1/2 seasons. That said, I wasn't expecting the Bulls to be completely snubbed in the Duncan/McGrady year but it happened.
  13. Pomeroy still hates PSU and only has them winning 5 more games, finishing 18-13 (they're currently 13-4).
  14. 4 of PSU's next 6 games are against schools from Michigan: vs. MSU @ IU vs. UM vs. IWA @ MSU @ UM
  15. amazing discrepancy between the 2 sites. PSU is #22 on Rivals and #10 on Scout. Is it just a different evaluation system or what?
  16. it's more than I'd expect for Hughes, so I'd go for it. What is O'Neal's injury status?
  17. Isn't Ken a japanese name? now, Ryu is Japanese. Ken is his American counterpart.
  18. those #'s only go to strengthen my opinion that Puckett doesn't belong either.
  19. We'll see how Rich-Rod does with is own recruits. I tend to prefer coaches who mold their offense around their personnel to those who have a "scheme" and recruit to that style, but I guess going 100% spread worked for him in WVA
  20. 23 verbals for PSU, thanks mostly to Larry Johnson Sr., who owns Maryland. Rivals has them with seven 4-star recruits and ten 3-stars. Most important recruit is probably QB Kevin Newsome, who is a "dual-threat" QB a la Daryll Clark and Michael Robinson. He's rated as the #4 dual-threat QB in the nation. They also have a pair of 4-star DE's and a pair of 4-star DB's. Overall class ranking is #22 right now, which is 4th in the Big Ten (behind OSU #2, Michigan #8 and MSU #18)
  21. they should just change to NCAA review rules and call it a day
  22. don't all Japanese players have a gimmicky delivery?
  23. don't forget he signed Chris Leak in 2007 before cutting him BTW, Leak should call Tebow to mentor him in the ways of the CFL
  24. the riots here would be tremendous. eh, not so much in State College. I'd say SC is mostly Steelers fans
