  1. The Cubs are loaded on offense too, they're just playing like poop. No guarantee Holliday will do anything
  2. Oh nuts, the Reds. This means Len/Bob are blacked out and I'm stuck with Brenneman/Brantley on FSN Ohio :x
  3. his OBP is decent, but his SLG is lower than his OBP. Not quite as bad as his Taveras/Hairston 1/2, but pretty bad
  4. Dickerson/Tavares at the top is patented Dusty-ball.
  5. perfect mechanics
  6. I still think he will be a pretty successful NFL TE. has he proven he can catch a pass or run routes or consistently block speed rushers?
  7. no no no, I want ESPN to dangle off of Tebow's jock for as long as possible. It'll only make his complete failure at the next level all the more sweet
  8. Joe Buck's call when the Phils won the World Series was worse, as was Pat Summerall's non=call when the Patriots beat the Rams in the Super Bowl
  9. How is Hawk's call any different than Santo's call of Z's no-hitter last year? "YES YES YES YES YES!" vs. "OH, YES!"

  11. who cares that it's the Sox or Beuhrle? Perfect games are always awesome. That Wise catch was unbelievable too
  12. 1998: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I'm pretty sure the Indians have said they aren't moving Martinez
  14. The Red Sox were at the point where they were willing to just dump the guy for nothing and eat the contract, so now, they at least get something, even if they likely still have to eat the contract. sure, I get that, but he's acquired two players today that he doesn't need at all
  15. Except that when he actually faces someone on the mound better than a cardboard cutout (as in the playoffs the last two seasons) he is inept at leading off, hitting homeruns, and pretty much anything else offensively... Soriano smells like a rose when he swings at the first two pitches of an AB. He bats .375-.400 in his CAREER when he puts the ball in play in those situations. He's a fastball hitter and does everything AGAINST the theories of what a leadoff hitter should do... He's a great stat padder, but when the game is on the line, and he has two strikes on him, he will FAIL because he refuses to adjust and play the team game. 3-28 with a solitary walk in the last two playoff series is ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW... .107/.138/.245 0HR 0RBI Now post Aramis' numbers in the last 2 postseasons hint: they're worse than Soriano's
  16. Fukudome has been hitting the ball HARD recently
  17. the Cubs aren't getting Matt Holliday
  18. I would have to disagree. The difference between Soriano hitting a solo homer or a 3-run home can be the difference between winning and losing a close game. And if your leadoff man gets on base an extra time or two, that can be the difference in a close game, as well. Not to mention, considering our pitching, most of our games are pretty close. so batting 1st in the batting order prevents you from hitting 3 run homers?
  19. Strike zone was suddenly shins to chin and 3 feet wide in that at-bat
  20. when Jeff Baker clears the bases on you, it may be time to hang it up
