    haha i wish the cubs' history was such that not winning the world series for 9 years could be considered "disastrous" almost a decade of having (by far) the largest payroll but zero world titles is pretty much the definition of disastrous

    depends on what kind of contracts the local announcers have signed with their local affiliates. beyond that, there's this ridiculous thing that NATIONAL broadcasts need NATIONAL announcers. TBS would probably think they were slumming to use the Fox Sports Midwest crew for their broadcasts. But it's not limited to baseball; NFL broadcasts are just as bad Well there aren't local TV crews at all for the NFL, so thats not really an avenue that can be pursued. True, but they over value people like Joe Buck and under value people like Gus Johnson

    career-wise, sure, but his production with the Yankees has been terrible and it's just fed the "Jeter is a true Yankee, A-Rod is a bum" nonsense.
