  1. Someone should break one of Ron Turner's fingers every time he calls a bubble screen
  2. Florida might do it......for Pedroia, Ellisbury and Lester
  3. Brady Quinn is getting good protection but can't hit the side of a barn right now. His passes aren't even close
  4. Trammell: .285/.352/.415/.767 2376 Hits, 412 2B's, 185 HR, 1003 RBI, 236 SB's Larkin: .295/.371/.444/.815 2340 Hits, 441 2B's, 198 HR, 960 RBI, 379 SB's as a comparison: Ripken: .276/.340/.447/.787 3184 Hits, 603 2B's, 431 HR's, 1695 RBI, 36 SB's
  5. Larkin and Trammell (to me) are "Hall of Very Good" type players, but not legendary
  6. this "the season's over" stuff is starting pretty early, even for illini fans
  7. Missouri's helmets look like they were painted with auto-primer on them.
  8. oof, I hope not
  9. Hasn't Andy MacPhail been angling for that job for awhile?
  10. Do you think Castros really ready? The last thing we want is to rush the guy. It will be interesting to see if Jaramillo can work miracles with Castro. All of the stories have said that Hendry is kind of prepping Theriot for a move to 2B, but I really think Castro needs a little more time in the minors. It wouldn't surprise me if he's called up part way into the season. You're right about not wanting to rush him. There would be a lot of pressure on a 20 year old playing SS on a contending team. It's been Hendry's M.O. to rush top prospects (see: Patterson, Pie, etc.) so it wouldn't surprise me if he broke camp with the big team
  11. Because that's where the NC game is being played
  12. Actually, Theriot will probably start at 2B
  13. Maybe personally you feel that way, but there's no way he isn't a first ballot guy given what voters look at: He's extremely popular in the baseball community, a MVP award, multiple gold gloves at SS, nearly a career .300 hitter, 12 All-Star games. He's a lock. he's pretty low on the Gray Ink test (if you put any weight into that) he's also far behind in most HoF stat milestones. We'll see how the vote goes Ironically, he won the MVP in 1995, but finished 12th in the voting in 1996 (for a season that was far, far better)
  14. I think Larkin is borderline.
  15. Alomar (minus spitting) is a no-brainer. But the spitting will get blown completely out of proportion and overshadow his entire career (in the eyes of the voters)
  16. no, a 3-loss USC team would get in first
  17. My world will never be the same.... ...just kidding, I don't really care
  18. Columbus has not won 7 in a row
  19. that must be fairly new, because I don't remember much (outside of "Jump") being played that wasn't on the organ. Then again, I haven't been to a game since the "Go, Cubs, Go!" nonsense started
  20. Completely agree. Go to a White Sox game and enjoy a never ending barrage of advertisements over the PA system and corporate sponsored replays and shell games between every inning. Maybe someone will hit a HR into the Nissan Kids Fun Zone or over the Papa John's right center field wall! ..... or into the Bud Light Bleachers ???? I knew that was coming
  21. I feel like this is the first national TV Bulls game since opening week
  22. Texas A&M wins this game if they could [expletive] tackle anybody
  23. seriously? smart, lucky, whatever you want to call it, he's won more games with less money than Hendry and the Cubs since 2002
