  1. Gotta love the Fat Toad and Pavana at 2 and 3.
  2. http://www.nypost.com/seven/03152008/sports/yankees/hank__were_not_going_to_take_it_102070.htm?page=1 He's going to be fun to watch when TB has a better record than the Yankees in '09. I was just coming here to post that inane quote. Sometinmes I worry the Yankees are headed to another dark age, unless he learns from his fathers mistakes. He is a history buff so I hope he sees it and learns quickly. I disagree with you about 09. I think the "Devil" Rays will continue to improve, but why will the Yankees be worse? I like our young pitchers and they will have another year of experience. Giambi and Moose will be gone. Damon and Matsui will be in the last year of their deals, so the could be dealt. Pettitte may or may not be back. I feel payroll will be lower and the team will be better next year. I can actually see them missing the playoffs this year and coming back much improved in 09.
  3. Mike Napoli AND D.Lee each hit a triple? WOW
  4. Yeah, I didn't see Derwood posting the Tekulve card. His was better than the Donnie rookie.
  5. That is what I said earlier. Bring back the white sanitary socks and the stirrups. That is still the way to go!
  6. White sanitary socks and stirrups, FTW.
  7. I love the high socks!!
  8. Hope he gets well soon.
  9. Well back on topic: http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2008/03/13/girardi-talks-it-over-with-duncan/
  10. The pitch barley grazed his chest / shoulder area. It was far from a Beaning! I have seen it 5 times and the angle is lousy so you don't really know if it was even intentional. Phillips was having control issues and had given up 2 runs already. The pitch would have been ball 4 anyway.
  11. Duncan should be suspended and fined. I don't agree with Girardi getting a fine.
  12. I'm sure he got the wink from Girardi. Whatever, It is a lose-lose in my opinion. They go back at the Devil Rays and they are the [expletive] Yankees to all the haters. If they let the play go then they are wusses. Whatever. IMHO, Girardi is sending a message that is a long time coming. It is time the Yankees started to play with passion again.
  13. Duncan was wrong! That was a bad play. I never read too many Yankee fans going crazy over Cervelli. He was run over while blocking the plate from a guy trying to make the Rays. I am not sure the play had to happen in the 9th inning of a meaningless ST game, But if they want to play hard the Yanks should play hard as well. Duncan went to far though.
  14. That doesnt show the fight :( That wasn't the fight that was the game before, when Cervelli got his wrist broken in the bottom of the 9th of a ST game. That is the play that annoyed Girardi and led to an apparent beaning. And it wasn't Crawford that ran into him, it was a minor leaguer. Crawford ran over a twins catcher I believe.
  15. That's my daughters middle name too. If my son (10 months) was a girl he would have been Wrigley Addison. But he wasn't so he's cbbryan jr. You named your son JR. That is so Wrong! What is wrong with you?
  16. Mazel Tov. He was a decent ball player.
  17. Witty parody. And Bob Sanders Chevette zing FTW!
  18. Well, I just read the whole thread (never looked before because I don't care about Crisp, he was never coming to the Cubs, IMHO) and it lookes to me like Meph did let it go. He made his first post and moved on. He made several other posts and never again mentioned the validity of the rumor. Then Hoops decided to call Meph out--16 days later (by Hoops own admission) to which Meph responded. Maybe you should be asking Hoops why he took Meph (saying the rumor was bunk) so personally. Who cares if Meph comments that the rumor is bunk? Many other guys did as well, just in a different manner. Maybe Hoops just should have moved on? Maybe he should have put Meph on ignore, then he wouldn't have to see Meph saying his rumors are garbage. Just my opinion. There should be room for differing views on a board this size.
  19. AH, but alas those days have passed! I would not recommend that in this day and age.
  20. CIRCLE LINE is a must! Better at dusk, but day is also fabulous. The intrepid is gone, which still makes me sad when driving the west side. Times square is a waste unless you want to shop and have overpriced chain food. Ground zero is still tough, if you go there make the trip down to battery park. Central park, as mentioned, is very beautiful. Plus that puts you close to Lennon's home, be sure to stop. Now for the stadiums: Get to Yankees stadium at least 2 hours early to get into Monument Park. The Stadium has it's issues, but has cleaned up. Parking can be rough, especially with the construction. Shea is worse. Horrid place to watch a game, definitely past time for the Mets to get a new one! However, Parking is a breeze! Great tailgating is better because of the more open space. While at Shea, you can get to the Tennis center. But more importantly go see the Atlas and the World's fair site! Somewhere near Shea there is a a Brazilian Chusscaria that is a must! They bring a spit of meat right off the flames and carve it onto your plate. Steak, chicken and sausage all rotisserie cooked and fresh. It is all you can eat and OUTSTANDING! There linguisa (sausage) is worth the price. Oh, one thing. Walking around the city, especially around place like Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, MSG and Penn Station, it is tough to see (HEAVILY) armed National Gaurd Troops lining the streets. But such is the world we live in. Good Luck with your trips! I hope you all have a great time!
  21. All Jokes aside, IF Bonds were to go there for @8 million he is worth every penny. He is 65 hits away from 3000, and is adding to his own HR record. People would go to see him. I think more people would go to boo him, but they still would be paying to get in. As Lawrence Fishbourne said, "The money don't know where it came from!" It is not like he has a lot of choices.
  22. Unless Boras is Robert's agent, then Series be damned!!
  23. Ron Cey can't get on the ballot? No love for the penguin?
  24. "Strange things are afoot at the circle K" Maybe he learned that you don't mess with Ted "Theodore" Logan and Bill S. Preston, ESQ.
