  1. Yep, he is an all around solid player. Basically another Adam Haluska with a little more of an inside game. The other freshman looked pretty good too. Tucker can stroke from outside. As I said earlier, this team is already much better than last year. There isn't one thing I can think of were they have not improved. Maybe the post depth could be a problem, but really, last year our 3rd big man was Kurt Looby. In a year or 2 we should be competitive for the top 3 in the BT.
  2. what the hell jim
  3. Adding Mizzou not only adds a natural rival for Illinois, but also makes for an easy East/West split into two divisions. yep, Mizzou is a perfect fit. Missouri and Iowa is a good rivalry as well. Minn Iowa Mizz Ill NU Wisc Pur IU MSU Mich OSU PSU after your edit our posts say the exact same thing
  4. hey, he needs to please stop taking so many bad shots.
  5. The Big Ten would never take Iowa State. Mizzou on the other hand...
  6. Donnie, I really want to believe you man. What did your sources tell you then? Really nothing beyond "Jake wants to be in Chicago" and "Atlanta isn't going to happen". I have more to say, but the more I think about it the more it could hurt the Cubs chances of getting him. I'm a Cubs fan first and foremost so I will not risk reducing the Cubs chances of getting one of the best pitchers in MLB just to improve my credibility with the board as a whole. Hey Donnie, not to get too cyncial, too harsh, but how come you only post very late at night, and not during the day? he is a werewolf and his source is his human day body who is also a cubs player
  7. This is funny. there are a bunch of things saying he is likely going to Chicago and no one will believe them, and then one guy says hes going to atlanta and everyone gives up. this must be a Cubs fan site.
  8. I cant believe some of you are giving up this easy.
  9. boy i sure hope the hawks can win this game coming up tommorow morning
  10. As of now the hawks have the 2nd best goal differential in the NHL, behind only San Jose.
  11. erm...no. Iowa will improve a bit from a team that won 6 Big Ten games last season. Iowa lost its best player in Freeman. They lost 3 seniors of consequence in Johnson(played 89% of all minutes), Gorney, and Looby. The incoming class is mediocre at best and the 2 sophomores who had serious time last year were horrendous shooters from inside the arc.(Peterson sucked from outside too) They're basically Indiana with Cyrus Tate.(which admittedly is a huge difference, but it still ain't pretty) Freeman was not our best player at the end of the season. Jake Kelly and Cyrus Tate took over the team midway through the Big Ten season. Justin Johnson was a solid player but his presence (basically spotting up for threes all game) will be replaced by Matt Gatens who is a much more versatile offensive threat as well as a better defender. Jarryd Cole, who missed the entire Big Ten season last year with a knee injury after dominating late in the non conference portion, will also return. Tate and Cole inside is something no other not-top-tier Big Ten team can claim. Looby and Gorney were both terrible basketball players. Tate and Cole eat them alive.
  12. erm...no. Iowa will improve a bit from a team that won 6 Big Ten games last season. If you say so. As someone who attended every home game last season and watched basically every road game, as well as attended several practices and the exhibition this year, I feel confident in saying this years team is better. Lickliter is more of a system coach than anyone in the BT other than Carmody, and he has 6 new players coming in that will all fit in and contribute. Last year they basically won games without any offense at all. This year the offense should improve a bit, with the same defensive intensity. I have Iowa winning 8 Big Ten games this season, good enough for 7th place (finished 8th last year). Ahead of NU, Michigan, Indiana, and one of Ill and PSU.
  13. It has already gone from "Before Monday" to "Before Thanksgiving" to now "Before the winter meetings". This is gonna be fun.

  15. ok, im a little lost because half the posts the last couple pages are on ignore...deals not gonna happen now?
  16. f it, im going deep.
  17. Not sure what you are watching or were expecting but he looks ok so far.
  18. anyone else see the Joe Pa press conference after the game today? He doesnt look too good.
  19. 2 good games and he can pass Banks for #1 all-time. I think he's just over 300 behind. If he plays long enough next week, he should get within striking distance. If he stays healthy it wont matter with the bowl game added in.
  20. Best sporting event I have ever attended. GO HAWKS!!! i was at the Cap One bowl so nothing will ever top that but this is near 2nd along with the Wisconsin game in 04.
