  1. Soto might get a shot at playing time here. Win,Win situation IMO
  2. In all seriousness...do they have any decent 3B in the minors?
  3. Naturally, I can't find the quote anywhere, but I definitely recall reading that Soriano prefers leading off because he sees more fastballs there. He may prefer to leadoff, but he certainlty does not dictate it.
  4. The stretch is not our thing. The stretch is done across baseball. The Cubs choose to make it stupid. And they've used several opposing announcers and opposing team affiliated people who regularly throw-in the visiting teams name. The strech is more popular with the Cubs because of Harry, and then the celebrity thing.(whether people think it is stupid or not). I don't see the big deal about booing Uecker.
  5. Why don't you either add some actual substance to your posts or quit criticizing every post? Not neccessary, IMO. THis topic is worthless.
  6. The stretch is our thing. If Uecker wants to butcher our tradition he deserves to get booed. Cheers to all who did boo him.
  7. ugghh...I hope not
  8. Yeah, what the heck is up with that?
  9. Rozner is a tool
  10. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070828cubsbits,1,2573455.story?coll=cs-home-headlines Hopefully this will kill all that "Aram is lazy" crap certain Chicago writers like to spew.

  12. That trade looks a lot worse because Brian Anderson is useless with a bat in his hands and Ryan Sweeney is inconsistent at best. meh, I don't think those 2 have to factor in at all. Bottom line is that giving up a talent like Young for Vasquez who is nothing spectactular, was terrible. Right now the only think holding Young from being an elite player is his plate discipline, but if I'm not mistaken his ISoD in the minors was always around .900-1.000. If he can translate this at the big leagues, watch out.
  13. How dare Myers talk to his wife like that.
  14. Young's exciting, but that OBP is ugly. I think that will come around. From 04-06 he posted an OBP over 360 each of those years in the minors.
  15. If the Cubs miss the playoffs, I'm pretty sure Hendry will get a 5 year contract extension.
  16. I have seen thousands of player interviews over the past few years, and I have seen players snap a bit, but I haven't seen a player call another reporter a [expletive]. Just another gem from baseballs resident wife beater.
  17. Trading Chris Young for Vazquez is looking pretty terrible right now.
  18. Considering how Wood has expressed his love for Chicago and his desire to stay here, I would begin contract negotiations real low..2 years 3 million. Even a fraction of Kerry is better than other garbage options that will be out there..IMO.
  19. GoCubsGo!! = The Craig Monroe of NSBB I take offense...I consider my prime years still way ahead of me
  20. Not too bad of deal IMO. Monroe can hit lefties well and it appears the Cubs did not have to pick up too much of his salary.
