    I really like this competition thing we have going on @ the QB position..plus think about it...what is going through the Colt's minds right now? They don't know if we will be punting all day, or turning the ball over 5 times come the season opener..

    When people do stupid crap, be it my favorite player or not, it's still stupid crap. It's one thing if you do the right thing and get a bad result. I'm OK with that. Swinging at the first pitch away (by a pull hitter, mind you) after the pitcher has walked two guys with two outs and the bases are loaded isn't what I would call smart. There are times to swing at a first pitch. That wasn't one of them. I'm pretty sure he thought he had a good pitch to hit, it just didn't work out for him.

    Personally, I don't see why MLB can't come up with some type of padding that would be allowed for pitchers to use if they should have some type of blister or other injury on their hand.

    Wuertz is also terrible Sadly, statisics would suggest otherwise. Prior to last night Wuertz had a 5.40 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP in 5 appearances since his demotion. Yeah, that is a great sample size there. Weurtz had a proven track record of "not being terrible". There is no point debating this. Weurtz is not terrible. Seriously. You know who else had a proven track record of "not being terrible"? Bob Howry. Exept for 2008 of course. The same could be said for Wuertz. The arguement that either of the haven't been terrible is wrong No, not really. Agree to disagree, I guess. No, there really is nothign to disagree about. Wuertz was not terrible in 2008. His demotion was based on bad outing he had vs. Cincy. He was actually lights out in May & June. Can we please operate with some facts here. Thanks. K compelling agrument. I was taking the high road because there is no changing your man-crush on Mike Wuertz. I had looked up the stats, was going to post his WHIP and OBA, but decided it was in vein. OBA is .331 btw I'm pretty sure that stat isn't correct.

    You know who else had a proven track record of "not being terrible"? Bob Howry. Exept for 2008 of course. Furthurmore, Weurtz wasn't even terrible when he was demoted, our manager just has ADD. Howry minus 5 outings this year: 47.1 IP, 3.58 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 35/7 K/BB Alot of bad players can look good if you cherry pick their best outings. He has been pretty bad this year, and in addition to the stats, it appears that he is "very hittable" these days.
