  1. Saw Brendan Harris play last night. Thought I'd throw that out there. He will probably be a Sept callup for the Reds.
  2. What does it matter where he hits? He'll get his AB hitting 1st or 8th.
  3. Anyone else think Patterson is a little overrated at #4? Not sure who I would put there though.
  4. When you are a garbage ball player batting 2nd in the lineup..that is what usually happens. Not Ceasar's fault. He sucks with the bat..blame the GM for getting him. Remember his glove is like driving in RBI's and is like a guy whos batting .350  Why can nobody just flat out say he is a great defensive SS? It always has to be qualified or with some flip remark about his hitting skills. If he makes a good play, the jokes start coming about his bat. You do realize that Neifi was a quantifiably better defensive SS, right? See comment #44 here. And Cesar's career offensive numbers are slightly worse than Neifi's. So as NSBB celebrates the Neifi trade, we'll go into 2007 with a higher-paid Neifi starting at SS. I think the "celebration" of the Neifi trade borders on ridiculous. I think Izturis can be an asset. If there is one position that a good defensive player is a necessity it is SS. He can become an even bigger asset if this team is improved upon during the offseason. He's not going to be a great offesnive player, but I do think he is /can be better than many give him credit for. His value is in his defensive ability, which with a stronger team around him will be much needed.

  6. Can already tell Izturis is the new whipping boy, it always has to be somebody.
  7. That ball was hit hard and right down the line. Pujols made a good play, if he isn't holding Pierre on that ball is down the line for a 2B. Criticizing is fine, but not justified there.
  8. Guess Theriot is a bum too huh? at least Theriot can work a count...oh yeah...he can catch a fly ball too.
  9. Good for Neifi, wish him well in DET. At least now the constant, incessant Neifi discussions will die once and for all. That is the best thing about this trade.
  10. Thank God! Not Neifi being traded, but now the endless overreactions to Neifi on this board will disappear, hopefully.
  11. And lucky...1/2 inch away from being a GS that applies to the 10th inning, Getting the best hitter in the game on luck is fine by me. I know...I'm wth ya.
  12. Me either, but what are the chances of him doing that at the ML level? Matsui has never even approached those numbers with the NYY.
  13. Hyperbole alert. He won't start on Saturday now.
  14. Is it all the organization's fault? YOu can definitely make a case for it or did you forget how bad he was abused in 2003? Crazy pitch counts and letting him go out there and pitch when he hurt his arm running the basepaths? Yeah, you can make a case. How's Kerry Wood doing these days? I'm not buying the Giles collision as some kind of major injury. He went on the DL, came back and proceeded to go 10-1 with an ERA below 2.00. If he was hurt, he was on some serious medicine to mask it. mAybe he needs to go back on it.
  15. Is it all the organization's fault?
  16. Just for fun I looked up Bere's stats. 93: 12-5 3.47 ERA 142 IP 109 H 129 SO 94 12-2 3.81 ERA 141.7 IP 119 H 127 SO All downhill after that. Prior headed down the same path?
  17. Brenly loves to read those Budweiser promos.
  18. Fro watching the game today, the only offspeed pitch Prior can get anywhere close to a strike is his 84-86 mph changeup. Not going to win any games with just that and a 91-92 mph fastball.
