We lose and the Cardinals win and I'm a bit more concerned. It'd be nice to get it going. Maybe the sox gotta get a 4 run lead first. That's been the answer the last two games.

It's because their start raised the expectations to the point where you expect them to dominate every night. Instead you've gotten a .500ish team since mid May. Like I've said in past game threads almost every good team goes through a long stretch of .500 ball. The hope is they will hit their stride again in August and cruise to the playoffs We are the 1984 tigers so we're gonna win it all.

Pressure is definitely a thing and could be a factor but then again. A player deals with lots of pressure on this sport from the minors on up. Heyward would have dealt with similar pressure coming up as such a hyped up prospect so i don't know. I could see getting off to a slow start and then dealing with bad luck getting to his head especially with the constant criticism that he didn't deserve his contract. I'm surprised he hasn't heard boos at Wrigley. If the division lead dwindles he very well might.

Any chance this Montgomery guy was only good because he played in giant ballparks out west or am i just annoyed that he's sucked in both outings with us

Since it seems like we've been on the wrong side of fun walk off and comebacks this year i demand lots of fun and memories come playoff time.
