The Nets suck but the bulls have looked better than a 5 seed so far this year. Health could easily be an issue, as always, but it's been a lot of good so far (granted it's early) I'm not sure if the bulls are better than toronto but I do think a 2-3 seed is possible.

I have seen a lot of cardinal fans throw out the 11 ring thing online. I don't understand bragging about titles you never saw. I'm a packer fan and care about the championships I have seen and bragging about something your team did a few years ago is odd.

I thought I remember years ago he claimed to be a fan of both teams. Perhaps he did, and I don't see how that matters. I grew up a Cubs fan who was largely indifferent to the White Sox but had family and friends that liked them and a neighbor with season tickets. It wasn't until I started to run into Sox fans on the internet or paying attention to certain media member comments that I grew to despise them. Add to it the hypocrisy with how the city has financed the White Sox while Reinsdorf has unfairly manipulated the commissioner's office to offset the Cubs inherent advantages. But if I lived my fandom differently, not wasting time on the internet talking about it or really paying attention to the inner workings at play then I'd probably have a moderate appreciation for the White Sox. You don't have to hate the White Sox to qualify as a Cubs fan. I don't really care one way or the other. Qualifying "true fans" is annoying. I was just trying to see if I remembered this correctly.

his fan status was questioned last night Taking a photo with a player and a jersey doesn't exactly do anything. But I think the guy's history has made clear he's a Cubs fan, and attending a Sox game doesn't disprove that at all either. I thought I remember years ago he claimed to be a fan of both teams.

I think it shifts things from being an accident or misfortune into being something that he did to himself. Does it make it less tragic? No. But it does drains almost all of the sympathetic feelings for him from it. Instead of "how cruel for that to happen to him and his family", it's "his selfishness really cost his family". Now it's just another cautionary tale of reckless stupidity. Maybe that makes it more tragic, I don't know. A lot of times drug use is associated with something going on inside the head of a time and since I don't know if he has issues mentally I can't judge a man for that and the dude still seemed pretty cool so it still sucks. And he's still a great talent who we won't see anymore and that sucks too. There are a lot of scenarios where I don't care about coke in the system and few where I do.

Lester always seemed a tad unlikable (to me at least) but he's pretty much negated that between his awesome pitching and the stuff he's said tonight in his interviews has been cool as hell. Now he's coming across as pretty bad ass to me.
