The only thing that concerned me about that pickoff was the fact that there was so much dirt involved that they may have thought the hand could be touching the bag through the dirt but it was clear he was still moving towards the bag when the tag hit.
There are a lot like that (well not $200 but closer to 500-600) I've been in the shoes before of having to dump tickets to a high demand game. I bought tickets to the Rockies WS back in 07 to sell them. I denied offers of 4k for 4 tickets (had a combined face of 1k) because i saw similar seats selling for 6k. Finally the prices plunged and I just wanted to get rid of them. Ended up selling for $2500. Some people start panicking when game time approaches and just want to get whatever they can for them. I agree the $199 for 1 SRO ticket is probably fake but I think you can get in the door for $500 if you are smart. I am dumb, how does one be "smart"
Aw, so we just have the same boring team that won 103 games and made it to the World Series with the ability to throw Schwarber out there for a key at bat. This sucks.
For most of the playoffs I've welcomed the day off just to rest up a bit. Not today though. A World Series game at Wrigley? Damn, let's get this horsefeathers started.
An easy clinching game where Chapman doesn't pitch would be amazing so, like, a billion reasons. But especially for Chapman not pitching. The double play to win the pennent worked so the focus wasn't on him.
Playoff/World Series swings of emotion are weird, last night I was freaking out about falling down 2-0 and telling myself it isn't that big of a deal if we don't win the series and tonight I'm dreaming of winning Sunday (granted I was still doing that yesterday)
For sure. Part of me wonders if he's such a dick that he just horsefeathers around in runners on/multiple inning situations. Not really, but at the same time it wouldn't shock me. Was it game 5 vs the Dodgers where he "struggled" in the 9th? It was pretty clear he didn't give a horsefeathers because of the score.
