  1. I have a feeling they are going to win it and we will lose in the first round.
  2. Off the bat I said "popped him up". Then I saw Edmonds running and just fell into a state of dismay. I keep watching the replay and off the bat it looks like a pop-up. How the Hell did that carry? How the Hell did Edmonds' ball not carry?
  3. One of those teams was the 2001 mariners. Lost the first game 5-0. They lost their other game 17-2.
  4. Before this year (it's not over yet) when did Cubs players give WS predictions? Z in 2007 comes to mind. He also didn't "choke hard" in the playoffs in '07, nevermind that apparently every mediot out there forgot about that. He's the one guy who showed up last year.
  5. I am tempted to get drunk, black out and wake up to see the score tomorrow because I just want to know the result of this game without the nerves of seeing it but I have homework to do (which is so not getting done right now).
  6. That would be kind of BS if the bandwagon Rays fans got to see a World Series and we don't. It's a choice between that and the Angels, Red Sox or White Sox fans getting to see another in short succession. I'm rooting for the Rays because it's good for baseball to have small market teams win and I hate both of the Sox and don't care about the Angels. But, if the Rays make it I want them to lose to the Cubs, not have them win it.

  8. I hope you don't get the chance to find out this answer
  9. Dear Cubs, If you lose this series can you please just go back to winning 60-70 games a year. I don't think I can do this again. Thanks
  10. I also thought that it was a normal fly out, in my mind I thought "wind's blowing in and that is way to high" I acutally put my arms up in celebration because I thought Demp was out of the jam. Then I started throwing things and I don't think I said anything until this morning. Actually I don't think I've talked to anyone this morning either.
  11. I honestly feel this is a make or break game with the Cots and Seahawks coming up. Thank God it's against the Falcons but with Rodgers' health being questionable, I am not too confident seeing as I don't trust the running game or a rookie QB.
  12. Has anyone ever won a Division Series after losing the first 2 at home? I think the Yankees did in 2001 against Oakland. Correct. The 1995 Mariners did the same to the Yankees too. Actually the Yankees won the first two in New York and then the Mariners won the last three. I remember this because this was before I was a fan of any teams so I rooted for the Yankees because my dad used to a be a big Yankee fan (until I got into the Cubs) so I was pretty dissapointed. (Stupid 1998 that made me a Cubs fan and not a Yankee fan).
  13. I agree that sometimes people get a little high and mighty about how calm, cool and collected they can be. I definitely ride the rollar coaster during games. But seriously, you walked out? I think that's pretty lame. I agree its pretty lame. I was ashamed the moment I did it, and the shame has lasted with me since. I just didn't know what to do. I was pretty crushed after that grand slam, and for about an inning before I actually left, I paced up and down the concourse from foul pole to foul pole. While I was walking around, I was looking at the reactions of people seated in the first row of terrace box, and I saw more than a few people smiling, laughing and joking. I couldn't handle people enjoying themselves while I was so upset (and drunk to be honest), so after the 6th run scored, I left so I could walk it off. Again, I know its just game 1. I know I'm being dramatic. If this was game 2 (whether we won or lost game 1) it would be different. Blah, I don't know...I'm an idiot. I get so emotionally into important games so much that if I don't get up and leave or turn the channel, I will be dead in ten years.
  14. I'm going to cross sports here. But when the Packers fell behind 14-0 last year I felt like someone kicked be in the nuts hard (same feeling I'm having now and is probably baseball's equivealent to falling behind 1-0 in a series). The Packers came back to win and won easily, hopefully this happens with the Cubs. Although if the Cubs lose in the NLCS in extra inning in game 7 I don't think I could recover like I have from a OT loss in the NFC championship. Now what does this all mean, nothing, except that in my mind all of my favorite teams are connected somehow. And that I might be certifiably insane, at least when it comes to sports and my favorite teams being in the playoffs.
  15. What are the odds that I win and the Cubs don't play NLCS baseball?
  16. Has anyone ever won a Division Series after losing the first 2 at home? I think the Yankees did in 2001 against Oakland. You're right. But I think you mean 2002. I just looked it up, 2002 is the year the Angels beat them in the first round and then went on to win the Worlds Series. 2001 is the year Jeter made that famous play at home plate I believe.

  18. I think Z is going to get the job done. I really do but even if he doesn't, my mind tells me we still have a decent shot (and when I say decent, much better than other teams would if they fall down 2-0) because with Harden and Lilly going there is a good chance that it goes back to Wrigley where it becomes anyones series and I don't think Dempster can be as bad as he was last night. However if we lose tonight, despite logic telling me one thing, I am going to go into deep depression.
  19. We may be seeing Lowe in Game 4. If we make it that far. I mean he's in now. which means he's probably not going in game 4 That'll be when we wake up and are completing a 3-1 series win though.
