It probably has something to do with the fact that he's a good manager. Have some perspective, think about how the Cubs did the season before Lou got here, look at what he did the 2 full seasons he was here, think of all the attributes about this ballclub that immediately changed when he came aboard. Then think of all the injuries and turmoil we've had this year. No one in their right mind would consider all that, and then fire a manager 25% into the season when his team is above .500 Well, the 2007 team had a lot more talent than the 2006 team. I'd say that had more to do with the increase in wins, rather than Lou being on the bench. I don't see how anyone can see Lou changing the philosophical approach of this teams offense and say that, that didn't have anything to do with it. I don't like the way Lou handles a lot of things but he helped change the team from a free swinging team to a team who prides themselves in taking pitches.
