  1. Why? This has taken a big rebound from Deng and a huge leap from Rose plus ridiculously good bench play to achieve. Rose is making the third-year leap, that was expected. Deng is actually shooting worse from the field, from three, from the FT line and rebounding less than a year ago. But he defends, which is the real thing. Everyone knew he would defend and that Noah would defend. Couple that with getting away from Del Negro ball and getting a defensive genius as a head coach, coupled with a great defensive assistant, combined with the expected Rose jump and however many games of Boozer you're gonna get. I'm just saying it's something that didn't take imagination to see coming. Realistically all you had to do was go "wow, if their bench defends, they're going to be really good." But maybe everyone was so caught up in the Miami spectacle that they missed it. I honestly thought they'd be good but by good I mean pulling off a 3 seed and having a chance at an upset in the playoffs and making the Eastern conference finals (this could still be as far as they go but now they may be the favorites and losing in the conference finals may be disappointing). Once the Miami hangover wore off you started to think, maybe 3 guys won't dominate and maybe the Celtics are too old. I didn't think the Bulls would pull off the number one seed though.
  2. That was a great game, I never really doubted that they were going to win and that was against the second best team in the East. I hope they play like they did tonight in the playoffs. If they do it will be a long ride.
  3. We're really close to being the 1 seed. That's pretty cool.
  4. I still haven't come to grips with the fact that this team is actually a championship contender. The NBA is way less of a crapshoot than baseball when it comes to the playoffs. They won't get swept in the first round. This team looks like a title contender. I hope they are ready for playoff basketball.
  5. McHale might be the best pro athlete who looks nothing like a pro athlete ever.
  6. This might be the most I've been into a regular season NBA game ever.
  7. I wonder if the Indiana residency thing would be in place if the Bulls weren't a likely first round opponent.
  8. I know Detroit can still get the 2 seed but it'd be great if they didn't try these last two games.
  9. Needed that. Show up against Detroit now.
  10. I'm glad they realized that they are playing for the playoffs and to keep their trophy.
  11. Has Milwaukee ever made a jumpshot?
  12. I'm stunned that Hossa's goal wasn't a kick. In fact I don't see any way that should have counted.

  14. If that means more Diamondbacks on the schedule, I could live with that.
  15. it's irrelevant during the season too also, the preseason Pretty much, it's still fun though.
  16. I would enjoy a third straight win. Sweep the D-Backs and the Pirates series is forgotten.
  17. A tournament like this creates some strange looking final rankings. They represent the results of the tournament more than the ability level of the teams (which I think they should since that's kind of the point of the tournament.). It's just weird to see a team like Butler at 2 and VCU at 6 when they really aren't the 2nd or 6th best teams by any means.
  18. They looked good for about the first 33 minutes or so today. The rest of the game was a chore to watch. Lucky to escape with that win tonight. They'll show up against Boston. I'm not saying they will win but all year they have had less than stellar performances against a subpar team and then they come out and beat an elite team.
  19. This isn't a loss you want going into the playoffs. Hold on please.
  20. Is there anything good about French Canadians?
  21. I thought that was in. Of course I've said that a lot the past few games.
  22. To me chemistry is important in sports like basketball, football and hockey. It's less important in baseball because baseball is an individual game disguised as a team sport. Sure you may hate everyone of your teammates and your manager but I don't see how that will effect your ability to hit a baseball because at the end of the day, it's still you vs the pitcher and that's it. I could see a guy dogging it at the plate because he hates his teammates but even that seems rare to me because there are plenty of selfish reasons for a player to be successful. A poor season at the plate could cost a guy a lot of money.
  23. Maybe English is his second language and that was his implication.
