  1. I would have enjoyed Pujols bunting for no reason and then pulling off his Cards jersey and revealing a Cubs one underneath and then flipping off the fans as he walked away.
  2. Bob Brenly once called for an IBB of Bonds to force in a run and it worked, but that wasn't a playoff game No, a base hit would win it then. With Pujols a hit would only tie it.
  3. Yeah, I'd be what I was like in OT of game 6 in the SCF times 10 meaning my heart would have blown up by now.
  4. Theriot is going to tie this isn't he?
  5. YAY!!!!! Don't blow it this time.
  6. There is no Theo.
  7. The Rangers extra inning win will hurt them even more.
  8. Nolan Ryan looks like he's about to die although he's been in baseball for a long time in some capacity without getting a ring. He was on the 69 Mets I guess so nevermind.
  9. A home run here would suck.
  10. Why does everybody hate me here? I'm a Cubs fan just like all of you. it might have something to do with you saying that you couldn't decide which outcome to pull for - the rangers winning tonight (in which case the cubs' most bitter rival has a zero percent chance of winning the world series), or the cardinals winning tonight (in which case you get to go to a baseball game, but the cardinals have at least a 50 percent chance of winning the world series). It's a game 7 ... it's on every sports fan's bucket list. So go next year, when we win it all.... Why are you assuming we won't sweep? Third worse post in this thread.
  11. Get a stupid out before they tie it.
  12. Hopefully Pujols' next at bat is in a Cubs uniform.
  13. Awesome, that's a play that happens all the time and I'm pretty sure infielders are taught to do so.
  14. Hit another one.
  15. I feel like the Cards are going to score and then bust the game wide open. The Rangers have wasted too many chances.
  16. If Freese weren't a Cardinal I'd feel bad for him. What a time to drop a pop fly.
  17. I hope that happens more.
  18. Just because of tradition? Or hate shootouts that much? Going back to the tie wouldn't be a horrible option but obviously its less appealing to the casual fan the NHL wants so hard to entice. I think over the course of a season a lessor team can benefit more by forcing a game to a SO. I understand that lessor teams used to force a tie, but then they only received 1 point. Now they can force it to a SO and possibly pick up an extra point. Basically the whole system rewards lessor teams for playing neutral zone traps. 5 mins and a SO are not enough to take away too much randomness and adding time would not be a good idea over the long haul of a season. Personally I would rather the NHL went back to just ties and then get serious about calling interference. That would make the game much more open and exciting. Then you wouldn't need to manufacture excitement with SO's. I kind of liked the Olympics when they had a 10 minute OT in the gold medal game. I bet a lot of games would be decided in 10 minutes and if not I have no problem with going back to a tie. I don't like a coin flip deciding games and that's kind of what a shootout is. I was also thinking, and I don't like penalties that occur at the end of a game not being meaningful (like someone penalizes a team with 10 seconds left and they are down 1. I wouldn't mind seeing the game extended until the power play ends or something like that.
  19. I haven't been to anything too exciting though I have been to Lambeau for a Packers game, they lost 42-0 to the Patriots. The only thing redeeming from that was that I saw Favre, Brady, Rodgers and the great Vinny Testeverde play. I also went to game 4 vs the Braves in 2003 and I attended Iowa beating Penn State in 08'. I had tickets to game 7 of the Blackhawks vs Predators series a couple years ago but that game didn't happen and I had tickets to one of the Bulls vs heat series from a few years ago but I was dumb and bought tickets for a game in Miami and not Chicago so I was unable to attend.
  20. I think they could do something similar to the NFL and have challenges and then in the 9th inning and extra innings they could then have every close call reviewed or something. It's weird that MLB doesn't have replay as most of the calls that take place on a baseball diamond are pretty black and white as opposed to other sports where calls are more open to interpretation.
  21. This would make me very happy. I wonder if they'd move the playoffs back, if there would be less off days or if they'd pretty much say f the preseason. I'd bet it's a combination of all three. A week or so of preseason/training camps, more back to backs and then knock the playoffs back a week or so. When was the regular season supposed to start? November 1st I think. At least that is when it looks like the Bulls were supposed to start.
