  1. Iowa plays Gardner-Webb on Saturday. They make me nervous for some reason.
  2. The actual, die-hard Marlins fans who exist have to be pretty pissed.
  3. Yeah, I forgot about all the basketball only schools for some reason.
  4. What a terrible football conference. That's not really that good of a basketball conference either.
  5. I feel like Cutler having such a weak line hurts him more than it hurts other QB's. I don't feel like he is going to kill you with a quick strike like Brady or Brees. I feel like where he's going to hurt you is be utilizing his strong arm and throwing the ball into tight spaces and hitting deep balls. Bears also need more big, strong receivers. I don't really see why the Bears shouldn't build their offense like the Packers did when Favre was there since Cutler and Favre are so similar.
  6. I kind of feel like I did when we signed Maholm last year. Not bad, I'm not excited about it, but not bad for attempting to get cheap talent.
  7. And those are dressed up team photo pictures. Imagine what they look like when they are seen in HD covered in sweat, with the florescent lights revealing every nook and crevice on their face.

    NFL Week 10

    Play Stanzi!
  10. I'm hoping that this game was this years version of the Campbell game from last year.
  11. If Iowa finds a way to lose to Central Michigan in basketball too...
  12. Not really. I should mention that these preferences are not really rooted in logic. Bad defense just irritates me way more than bad offense. Should it impact the way I feel about who goes to the championship game? Probably not. Does it? Probably
  13. I'm slightly biased towards ND but not enough so for me to really be blinded by it. I think the fact that they have played BCS conference/BCS conference level opponents every week but one should matter. I feel like that much depth to your schedule can effect a team differently than if they play a bunch of top teams with some bad cupcakes mixed in and I'm not sure how a statistical formula can show that. I do think their near losses to .500 teams matters as well though and nearly losing to Purdue, BYU and Pitt is not good. Oregon can drop 70 on you when they click and that matters but the fact that they allowed 50+ in a game bothers me. I don't have too many complaints about K-State. They play decent defense and score points and they haven't really had any problems with bad teams. At the end of the day though, my belief is that the two teams who play in the title game should be the teams who had the best record against the toughest schedule. It doesn't matter how pretty the games are. The way each game plays out should be used as a tiebreaker though.
  14. 6 teams in the top 10 is a little excessive. The SEC isn't that good.
  15. I find that some weeks, I really like Oregon and some weeks I can't stand them. It's kind of strange.
  16. I didn't mind LSU playing Alabama in the title game. I did find it annoying that Alabama was the champion even though they played each other twice and split both meetings with both losses being to each other. Actually, LSU's win was at Alabama which was more impressive. I mean, stuff like this happens in all sports but I still find it annoying.
  17. They are good. Two years ago they win this game by 2 on a 3pt'er by Gatens with 6 seconds left in the game as the shot clock is expiring. They not make the tourney, but they'll be solidly on the bubble. And they'll make the tourney next year. I think their building a great program and I think we have some good college basketball experience but I think they are too young and the non-conference schedule is too soft for them to dance. Doesn't mean I'm not ready to enjoy this team. Even though this is his third year coaching, it feels like this is Fran's first true team (though, now that I think about it, most of the team is his recruits at this point I believe.)
  18. Notre Dame is a draw on its own. If they're one of two undefeated teams, there's no chance they get left out of the NC. They are a draw, but are they one of the top 2 teams? The game last year shows that people want the best 2 teams in it. I don't think ND is in that 2. Also by the end of the season, Oklahoma will be the only real quality win for K-State. Texas will likely be a 9 win team when they play K-State. That'd be a quality win.
  19. If all three finish unbeaten I think it's (or at least should be) Kansas State vs Oregon. If Notre Dame hadn't struggled with Pitt, BYU and Purdue I'd lean their way but those all could have/should have been losses.
  20. Sure is. Reminds me of Ohio State for a good part of the 2000's. A talented team who always, always found ways to win close games and it's equally annoying to me.
  21. I just said I could be convinced of it. Don't quite get why the statement is "lol, that's just stupid" worthy
  22. Wha??? lol, that's just stupid They've dominated bad/average teams. There best wins are against an overrated Mississipi State team who hadn't beaten anyone and LSU, who struggled with Towson and Auburn. This would be a good win but I could see Kansas State and Notre Dame having the argument of going through a tougher path to be undefeated. May not matter though.
