I would prefer avoiding the Cards this year. I thought we were definitely better than them back in 2015, but this year the starting pitching/bullpen just seems too unreliable right now. Don't get me wrong; I think we have a strong chance of reaching the WS and beating every team in the NL, but we go through really difficult stretches where the Cubs look awful for a few days. NLDS: Arizona (Doubt they'll get in, but you never know) NLCS: Dodgers or Atlanta World Series: Oakland We do seem to get a players rest day constantly and the pitching is getting more constitant. I like our chances as of now against anyone

How about Lester only going 5 because the Cubs are up 15-1 after 5. They could use a nice blowout win. Anyone else starting to have more confidence in Justin Wilson? He hasn't given up a run since August 2nd over 15 appearances. Tonight I not only officially embraced not dreading Justin Wilson, but I also have more confidence in him than Carl right now. I was very confident he’d get out of the jam he was in.
