  1. I finished college in 1999, luckily the Cubs,Bulls,Bears, and Blackhawks all sucked back then. I hope you can at least DVR the game? Yea I can but from 7:00 -10:00 someone is bound to blurt out the score no matter how nicely I ask them not too :-\ I just can't watch sporting events all the way through on my DVR. I will either end up hearing the score, or I'll just get impatient and fast-forward to the end. Especially with something like this. I would just need to know what happened immediately. I usually only fastforward through intermissions/commercials and especially the other team's PPs.

  3. So you don't think he will hit 2 more the rest of the season? if the option is 5 or under... yea he won't hit 2 more
  4. Should have told him to "get a brain moran". EDIT: http://z.about.com/d/politicalhumor/1/0/n/U/moran.jpg
  5. NOW people are starting to use my strategy :-D I am picking the over in the hockey game tonight.
  6. I think it's funny... that's like an inbred Cubs fan wearing a Pujols Mows My Lawn shirt. The reason it's funny is because it's a wrong stereotype... and it's a St. Louis genius wearing it.
  7. Oh and here are our favorite Canucks: http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/qq121/howcho/munchkins2-1.jpg Luongo, Mitchell, Bieksa
  8. I haven't looked at TripleThreatSports.com in awhile... but I got a very affordable Versteeg jersey through them, I'm sure they have jersey shirts... really great customer service as well. ya thanks im looking at that now, a lot less confusing. now i just have to decide between a toews jersey shirt and the draft cap. :-k Do you already have a Blackhawks sweater? If not... go with that... every Hawks/Hockey fan should have a sweater of their favorite team.
  9. Whoever/whatever made you, made your body tough for a reason. Maybe diving into a wall while playing baseball wasn't one of them, but there are certainly many other reasons for it. Really quite amazing what the human body can withstand. I am no MD so I won't diagnose. Just going from what I've experienced in the field... I think we have a couple MDs on this board and they could probably give you a more concrete answer.

  11. Me too. I really thought I had just witnessed someone become a quadriplegic. It wouldn't have been that bad... the way he went in, his arms braced him (although minimally) and he went high which would be a lower cervical injury. If he would have tripped earlier and gone low... with the way his head twisted before impact, could have been an Atlas/Axis injury (First/Second Cervical Spines) which is noooo good. I may hate Ankiel with all my guts... but this always makes me sympathetic no matter who it is. Forgive my ignorance, but doesn't this page beg to differ? You may not live the rest of your days as a quadriplegic with a lower cervical injury - but lower cervical injuries are still very much a danger to the recipient. I have a very good friend whose mother was a quadriplegic so I know just how devastating C1 and C2 injuries are. But any spine injury has the potential to be devastating. ANY cervical spine injuries could be devastating... however, at that velocity he would have had to really torque at the right angle to damage the spinal cord (to cause paralysis). Usually, cervical spine injuries that cause paralysis are brought on by high velocity trauma like car accidents or football/hockey hits where two bodies are coming together at full speed. His collision was a body in motion against a body at rest which (if the C-Spine was not critically damaged) would cause more of concussion type symptoms and would elicit a full recovery. This is why we, as EMS personnel take C-spine immobilization extremely seriously. I don't care if you collided with your center fielder in your soft ball game... you're going on a backboard and getting a collar.
  12. Anything Whitesox is just awful.
  13. Jersey shirt would run you about the same... 10-15 bucks. Not sure what kind of stores you have in Iowa.
  14. This is easy... less than 5.
  15. Cubs usually crush good pitchers and suck against bad ones. Cubs win 6-2.
  16. Thanks Ryne... well I mean, if Fontenot can do it, why can't Theriot? His OPS is over 1.400 in May :-D
  17. Why was Zambrano even bunting in that situation? It was an amazing bunt... but come on... you don't try to leg out a bunt as a thick pitcher. Just think the uproar this would have caused if that was a PH AB :-D Thanks for the "ONE TOTAL BASE" and "FOUR-FIVE MISSED STARTS"!

  19. You don't always know you got knocked out of consciousness... but by the way his limbs flopped and the ball dropped, I'll sure say he did... I'm glad he's going to be OK, that could have been a lot worse.
  20. We was down for about 10 minutes, then he was immobilized and carted off on a stretcher. Was he moving fingers or anything at all? He gave the thumbs up as he was being carted out. Apparently he can move all his extremities. An official report on his condition will probably be released some time in the next hour or so. If he can move ALL extremities, he'll be fine. OUCH though... gonna be in a neck brace for awhile.

  22. It's one thing to say you need to focus on your own play and not worry about the other guy. But to say you haven't even noticed him out there? Does Buff really even need bulletin board material at this point? If so, he's got it. Bieksa always says backwards BS to the media that does nothing but fire up the people he's talking about. He is a little wuss, too... I hope Buff labels him tomorrow night. And we all saw what happened when Bieksa tried to be a tough guy physically. SEE: Ben Eager.
  23. That's not good... how long was he down? I can't see the end of it but looks like it could be C-Spine (mid)... Did he get up by himself, or was he carried off with spinal precautions?
  24. Shuts out White Sox tonight... along with 10Ks. 6-0 0.40 ERA 54 K 8 BB 30 H 45.0 IP
  25. I'll go on record and say that as much as I hate Crosby for all his crappy antics, he really impressed me tonight. You can tell he really is the leader of the team no matter how much of a baby I think he usually is. I actually enjoyed watching him tonight... great hockey game all around especially when Crosby gets some points in my hater book :)! Here is Bettman's reaction to the two hat tricks by his golden boys (DISCLAIMER: I have no idea the context of this, it's obviously from some weird British show... but it's really hilarious!). http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/6034/bettmanrofl.gif
