  1. How is that guy married?
  2. I love the summer Olympics... so many weird sports I played in gym class and can watch them professionally... But I like the winter Olympics better because of hockey.
  3. Harden and Z no doubt... Sabathia and Sheets close second.
  4. Haha how very astute of you... for those who don't know... Jefe is boss in Spanish... hence the description.
  5. After graduating from the minor leagues and going: 1.59 ERA 11 1/3 IP 2 ER at the major league level, it is now time to give this man a well deserved awesome nickname. Shark just doesn't cut it anymore... "Jefe" Samardzija is what I am calling him from now on because yesterday when he faced the top of the Cardinals order he proved once again to be the boss. In fact he could also be the final boss of baseball, but this time... no game over.
  6. I'll stay out of the game thread today... but the AIM chat is up and will remain up as it did yesterday... so join whenever: redbirdsaredeadbirds
  7. I'm with all of you here... When we first signed him, I saw him as nothing but a 2 week try out (which I guess he was) and thats the initial reason of hating him... I couldn't stand the thought of bringing washed up Cardinals legend to the Cubs for 2 weeks and potentially hurting the team in offensive production, defense, and possible even club house chemistry. But I can now say I am a true Jim Edmonds fan. .284/.384/.621/1.005 Find me someone else who does that for $284,000.
  8. Zambrano in my opinion is still not in his prime. I think Lee is going to start to decline next year or the year after. Soriano is already in his decline but he will still be solid throughout his contract barring injuries. Wood could become one of the most dominant closers in the game if he gets his act together and doesn't get hurt. Ramirez is in his prime now and I see him as having his career year within the next two years and then start to decline. Lilly can provide us with 15 wins consistantly. I believe he can do this whole-heartedly if he starts getting better run support. Hill and Marshall are still developing and both have potential to be great. Or hey trade them and get another ace. If Prior can come back (LOL I KNOW I KNOW) then we could have a nice little rotation of: Zambrano, Lilly, Prior, Hill/Marhsall or whoever we trade them for. Don't forget Hendry said that this off season they are going to focus more on trades than free agents, should be a wild ride. In my conclusion, I think next year has to be the year with the future looking bleak after unless our farm system churns out a few monsters.
  9. So you meteorologists how long would you expect this delay to be because it's getting late here.
  10. Wow look at all the people leaving on the webcam... dang... must be pretty nasty there.
  11. I don't hate Rolen. Always thought he was a pretty good guy. Those other guys can go to hell though. Pujols is about as good of a guy that you'll meet... still hate him. I ahve actually heard the opposite. The media tried to make him out to be one, but he really isn't. Wrong, I talked with him for about 5 minutes on opening day 2006 at Wrigley. He was extremely nice and signed autographs for about 15 minutes. What so in five minutes you could make that decision? I know he has done nothing but be an ass the last few years in the media. Like crying about Howard winning the MVP last year because he didn't make the playoffs. No you are right Albert he had to play in a real division. Or when asked about his ex teammate Marquis pitching well against him, he threw Marquis under the bus and said he wasn't all that good. The guy is a jerk. In 5 minutes he spent talking to me personally when most major league players won't give you the time of day especially at a visiting park (except David Weathers, he is a load of fun always). Yeah that really isn't true either. I go to games all the time in Kansas City and most players will talk to you. Justin Verlander signed for me this year and talked with me about his no hitter. Barry Zito signed for me and joked with me for a good 5 minutes about the Cubs being my favorite team. He even brought over Haren and Haren said that he was a Cub fan now that the Cardinals gave up on him. Well what else is there to do in KC?
  12. HAHHHAH I am watcing len and bob so i didn't catch it... did he not know he was on the air?

  14. HAHAHAHHA! Santo said: "Root rootroot for the COBBIES" someone is a phantom NSBB poster!

  16. To be fair, the 9-1-2 coming up. With a pinch hitter. So it's basically the top of the order.
  17. JK LOL? he's come up with some pretty big hits already - for his time here, he's done plenty for his stripes. His average has been good... but you know Ward had a walk-off hit earlier in the season, but most people would argue his slam earned "his stripes" WAY TO GO PIG
  18. Kendall earn your stripes here, thank you.
  19. That was a pretty good play by Pujols regardless.
