  1. WOW!! Just WOW! Did you watch the game tonight? IT WAS ONE GAME. How the hell was he the "spark" over, say, Lee? Or Fukudome? Or Wells? I've been wanting Soriano on the DL for weeks now because it seems like his knee is really effecting his game. I don't mind Fuld getting in there for some starts or as a late inning defensive replacement or pinch-runner, but even then I'd rather have Hoffpauir out there on a regular basis if Soriano is going to be sat for more games or DLed. Hollandsworth said he was a spark as well. Let me guess, he has no idea what he is talking about, right? yep
  2. WOW!! Just WOW! Did you watch the game tonight? Okay, there's no way this is a real person.
  3. Well actually, his 758 OPS in AAA didn't exactly scream "Call me up!", so yeah, it was kinda his fault. Notice how Fox (and Blanco, and Scales) put up good numbers and got called up a lot earlier. Also, in Scales' first 6 games he had a 1307 OPS. Guess we should have just given him the third base spot "for good" and let Fox rot down in AAA right? No, we should just let the overpaid, mediocrity continue to roam the outfield. :good: Please explain to me how overpaid mediocrity is worse than cheap mediocrity? Again, they get paid the same playing or riding the bench. Also, since this thread is about Fukudome, we can talk about how his "mediocre" MAJOR LEAGUE numbers this year are much better than Sam "should be the leadoff hitter for good" Fuld's AAA numbers. Do you not think this team needs a spark? Yes/No? How would a bad AAA player provide a spark?
  4. Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back, there. After reading some of the comments about Fuld after I suggested he play, you bet. Nice to hear a respected, ex big leaguer back it up as well. So is Todd going to be the GM of your super team? I just value his opinion far more than yours. Let me guess, you only care about his opinion because he's played the game. If you've played in the majors, that gives you wisdom. Just like Joe Morgan.

  6. You can say ass. This is a family site.
  7. Should be leading off for good.. I know no one is used to seeing out leadoff man get on base, but that's how it's done. Just so I understand your logic here, you make fun of the rest of us for celebrating a single good game for Fukudome, and supposedly ignoring his bad RBI numbers (of all stats), yet one game of Fuld, after basically years of subpar output in the minor leagues, should be our lead off hitter for good. One game of Fukudome: Who cares? He doesn't get RUNS BATTED IN One game of Fuld: Leadoff hitter for good That about right? No, not at all. C'mon, seriously now. ANYONE involved with the Cubs have been pulling their hair out with Fukudome for a long time now. Of course Fuld doesn't have the at bats, but could it be that the kid MIGHT, just MIGHT add some life to a team that needs it? Just sayin. His AAA numbers aren't better than Fukudome's MLB numbers. I'm not sure what kind of life he would add to the team, and I doubt it would be helpful.
  8. Should be leading off for good.. I know no one is used to seeing out leadoff man get on base, but that's how it's done. Weren't you just complaining about people saying good things about kosuke after one good game? You know Fuld was OPSing in the .700's in AAA, right? Yeah, but Sam Fuld has fundamentals. Combine that with Bob Brenly and the World Series is basically ours.
  9. Just making sure the same rules apply to all posters. :cool:Don't worry about them.Don't worry about me. I doubt that will be a problem.
  10. I'm not in last? [expletive] yeah!
  11. As we all know, those are the best stats to show how valuable a player is. 0 HR and 3 RBI for June. A below .150 batting avg. How about those stats? I hope you don't put too much value into batting AVG. He had a terrible month and he still has a good OBP. I'm okay with him.
  12. As we all know, those are the best stats to show how valuable a player is.
  13. he noticed bad baserunning? what a key managerial eye. wait, you noticed it, too? forget brenly, sign up this diamondmind guy. you're a web bot aren't you? No, web bots provide more substance to their respective forum. OOhhh burrrnnnn They sure taught him a lesson.
  14. I bet Brenly noticed how bad that double play was.
  15. That's really clever. btw, you sure do complain a lot. Are you Richard Simmons or something? Have you ever thought that maybe people are complaining a lot because there is a lot to complain about with this team? I understand people being upset, but I don't think people need to create two different threads crying about how Hendry is ruining the Cubs.
  16. That's really clever. btw, you sure do complain a lot.
  17. So you're complaining that we're not vomiting praise for a random and completely unfunny thread? The internet should contain nothing but complements and cute smilies.
  18. Yep, happened to Kendall so it must happen to McGehee. I guess he didn't use good logic, but Casey McGehee is still awful.
  19. Wow, Ozzie Guillen was definitely right. That's just embarrassing. He's so shocked that people actually agreed with him he felt the urge to revisit the idea and shove it down our throats again. Nice. 11,000 people is a very good consensus in regards to the millions upon millions of fans the Cubs have in regards to this topic. And even of those 11,000 only about 6,000 actually said they should. I think we should trust those 6,000 or so people and do what's best for Phil Ro... I mean The Cubs. I didn't read the number of voters. I just assumed more people voted.
  20. Wow, Ozzie Guillen was definitely right. That's just embarrassing.
  21. I like him a little, jsut for the entertainment value. I wouldn't want him as my manager...though like you, I think there's worse managers out there. I don't understand finding entertainment in having your team's manager act like a total ass at all times and repeat childish insults about other fans bases. I mean, I wouldn't find it entertaining if Lou criticized Milwaukee or Stl. He's a crap manager who gets all sorts of nonsensical praise for making things happen all because he managed the Sox in a season when their starting pitchers were healthy and at their best and their hitters nailed a bunch of big homeruns. They haven't done crap since then but it doesn't matter because he knows how baseball is supposed to be played, and he swears a lot. i can't really disagree with your post. ozzie IS a huge ass, but what's so bad about that? i love the cubs-white sox rivalry. i'm from joliet, and my friends growing up have always been split 50/50 between the cubs and sox. i love the quickly escalating arguments about who's better, i love the ####-talking, and most of all, i love hating the white sox. if ozzie wants to incite things further, let him. ozzie is an interesting character in this child's game we all take so seriously, and i don't see anything inherently harmful in that. he genuinely hates the cubs, so if he wants to rant unintelligibly about us, it just makes things that much more fun. i appreciate professionalism as well, but ozzie never criticizes the cubs as a team -- he actually defends us quite often, as he did earlier this year. he just rags on wrigley and the fans. that's not necessarily classy, but to me, that's not that big of a deal. ultimately, i understand if people hate his guts. lou should call ozzie gay that'd be a riot
  22. I'm intrigued by this new discovery. Please continue.
