I echo what the majority is saying. Nobody is building around Demar, but it’s a good idea to build around some of these young/young-ish players and the mild success Demar will help them achieve over the next year+. If a deal opens up where KD or someone wants to come to Chicago to play with Zach, then of course you deal Demar and assets to make it happen. I think with a few tweaks and some better injury luck, the Bulls are a 50+ win team next year. I’ll take that over praying for ping pong balls for now. And if things get worse and it doesn’t work out, you should be able to get a decent return for Zach, Lonzo, etc.

I like this idea. Jusuf Nurkic is a free agent. Sign and trade for Vuc with spare parts moving around? Not sure who else is out there that could replace Vuc’s rebounding and provide an upgrade defensively. Also wouldn’t mind Drummond in a backup role, but I’d be hesitant relying on him as the primary big.

Lonzo means way more to the Bulls than Middleton does to the Bucks. What big changes do you propose?

I'm thinking blowout tonight, as the Bucks play better offensively. I’m hoping the Bulls shoot better than 32% from the field as well. I feel like the Bulls D contributed more to the Bucks shitty offense than the Bucks D contributed to the Bulls shitty offense.... but who knows. It likely won’t matter and we will get blown out tonight. Hoping for an entertaining game, though.

the bulls can't afford another bad defender when they already have 2 awful ones starting in demar and zach. if a metric says vucevic is okay defensively, it is wrong. i don't think i ever believed in the empty stats thing until i saw vucevic play. you watch him play and it's just so obvious that he is not good. I don’t think Zach is an awful defender. I think when he puts in the effort (theoretically in the playoffs) he is an above average on ball defender. He certainly lacks the awareness and off ball defense to ever be considered good, but he’s not as bad as people like to say. And I’ll just say I disagree with your assessment of Vuc.

Why does Vuc need to go? He needs to play with an athletic defensive 4 and BD needs to implement much better PnR strategies, but Vuc is fine.

Hasn’t Madrigal came up with guy(s) on base in all 3 ABs? He has. I mean there's not really a great place to put him in my eyes because I'm not a fan of his approach. He just doesn't work good ABs. Boy did Chavez suck the air out of the stadium. Agree. Not a fan. Only thing I enjoyed about him was my butt hurt Sox fan friends that loved him and hated the implosion of CK. Wish we could have thrown in some stuff to get Vaughn back instead, but doubt that was on the table.

You think another coach is going to get some of these humps to magically play defense? Vooch and Coby need to go. Replace them with guys that understand there are two sides to the floor and hopefully play a full (or mostly full) season with Ball & Caruso and the defense will be fine. Yes...?

He was talking about Zach, not Lonzo. And I was referring to Zach clearly not being himself most nights over the past few months, not resting tonight vs Milwaukee.

Not surprising. But yep, it’s over. Not that a hobbled Zach and Lonzo would have gotten very far, but was just hoping for one entertaining series. That’s looking pretty unlikely now. Disappointing.

What’s this “future” that was mortgaged? The 8th pick in the 21 draft and a likely non-lotto 23 pick? We likely will end up with the Blazers FRP at some point before 2028 too. If Lonzo doesn’t get hurt the Bulls are likely a top 3 team in the East and win 50+ games. They were a 22-43 team when AKME took over less than 2 years ago. That said, Billy has to fix the defense or he should be gone after next season.

Pat made some nice plays down the stretch. Pretty decent cushion from the play-in at least now. Hard to root for anyone when we could be the 5 or 6 seed and 1-4 can end up in any order. Just avoid the Sixers and Bucks in the first round if at all possible. A competitive, fun first round series will suffice for me this year.

What the horsefeathers kind of hot take is this? yeah I’m spiraling but arguably the two biggest decisions personnel wise are the Williams pick and the vuc trade which grade as wildly incomplete/bad billy has been pissing me off for two months now, no adjustments at all so that’s another incomplete at best It’s not like we drafted James Wiseman over LaMelo. We had the fourth pick in a 3 player draft and we went for upside. I still have hope for PW. Worst case he should be a solid 3 and D wing. The Vuc trade still isn’t bad imo. And the general consensus at the time was that it was a solid trade. Mostly agree on BD. He seems stubborn to make adjustments. And why is DJJ out of the rotation? He’s still much better than most NBA coaches and has served his role as a bridge out of being an absolute joke of a franchise. We need Lonzo. Look at the transition offense stats with him vs without. The 3 point shooting. The help on the defensive boards. The pick n roll defense. Everything we have been terrible at over the past 2+ months is what Lonzo does best.

Great first half. Terrible second half outside of the last few minutes. I hope they continue trying to blitz the PnR and switch up their coverage.
