  1. What time is the Cubs box office open till during the week?
  2. Even if he becomes a very good starter, the Texans have the 26 year old QB for maybe 7 good years while the Falcons will have the opportunity to take two extra potentially great starters as well as now having the opportunity to get LaRon Landry while the Texans just blew their opportunity to grab Peterson. I agree it seems like a lot on the surface, but you can just as easily say Schaub could potentially turn into the greatest QB in NFL history as say the Falcons can potentially take great starters. There are absolutely no guarantees in the draft. I agree there are no guarantees, but the chances of taking two good starters (I'll admit great was an exaggeration) with very high second round picks is much higher than a 26 year old QB becoming incredible (which is what Schaub will have to do to justify this deal). I felt like on age alone, Schaub didn't justify more than a first round pick and even then not a top 10. No way is he close to worth two second rounders and dropping two spots in the top 10 - putting you out of the race for the far and away best RB in the draft. Don't get me wrong, I like this deal as a Falcons fan. I just don't think it's that lopsided. I fail to see how dropping from 8th to 10 takes houston out of the run for AP. The Falcons aren't going to draft a RB and neither are the Dolphins. I guess it's possible someone trades up with the Fins to grab him, but I don't think its incredibly likely.
  3. See, I can get behind this. That was a horrible trade. But this team isn't destined for a first round exit because it didn't get up for the Grizzlies or Clippers. I think getting homecourt advantage in the first round will be far more important to their playoff performance than how they do against mediocre teams like the Clippers in March. Well put.
  4. I dont know about that. They might need to throw in Anibal Sanchez or Hanley Ramirez. Btw, that trade with Boston looks so very good right now.
  5. Well i didn't do too good today (11-5) but at least my bracket isn't busted yet. I still have all my sweet 16 teams alive.
  6. Very good deal for the Pack. It probably also means that they believe Favre will be back for at least 2 or 3 more seasons. You'd probably see them draft a QB to groom for the future if this trade actually happens.
  7. Alright...thanks for the input. How good is Oregon? I haven't seen them play this year (excpet highlights) but wanna put them in my final 4. Wisconsin just doesn't impress me and I don't really want to pick FU. I was thinking possibly Maryland or Oregon. Who does everyone have coming out of the midwest?
  8. I still have time to edit my bracket. I had UCLA going to the championship. You think with Collison's injury, I should change that?
  9. I love TT. I've been on the Tyrus bandwagon for a while now and his performance tonight was sensational. He had 3 awesome dunks and one pretty good one as well. Anyone who calls him a wasted draft pick is out of their minds. TT is gonna be a huge contributor come playoffs. It may actually work out really well that he didn't play too much early in the season. A lot of rookies run into walls midway through the season or late in the season, and I don't forsee that with Tyrus. Why in the hell did Ben Wallace take so many shots? I don't get CSN so I didn't see the game but saw how many field goal attempts he had. Insane!
  10. Yeah and they have Inman, Jeffress, and Rogers coming. Not a bad team.
  11. Given home court and health, I think the Bulls can beat any team in the East in a 7-game series. Agree. I fully expect them to win a minumum of 1 series. I guess I'd consider that "doing damage". They're sitting at 5 right now. I don't think it's reasonable to assume home court at this point. They have home court right now because they have a better record than the 4th seed Toronto, and they are closer to the 3 seed than losing that home court advantage over the Raptors. Perhaps, but there are still games left to be played. Like I said, home court can't be simply assumed right now. In the past 2 years the Bulls have finished the season strong. I don't see that being different this year. I don't think you can assume they'll have home court, but I think its more likely to happen than not. Regardless, I think they'll at least get out of the first round.
  12. Your SP, other than Johan, isn't real good for a 10 team league. Zito is overrated, Weaver is a stud but has some injury concerns, Ervin Santana should make the jump to become a solid starter, but he's not a for sure thing. For a 10 team league, I'd look at dropping Varitek to pick up another starter. You really only have 4 starters and a banged up Weaver. I like to have at least 6 starters if possible. Your RP is very good, but I usually don't take closers early. However, because of this strength, you can afford to probably live with the SP you have. Pods is garbage, but if you ever need a stolen base late in the week you can put him in and have a pretty good chance of picking one up. Overall, not too bad. If you could find one or two more starting pitchers, I think you'll be in real good shape.

  14. Anyone know who came in to pitch after the Chainsaw was taken out for a "pinch hitter"?
  15. I dont think I can say no fast enough. really, wow, i understand the love of Murton's potential but you get a chance at a player of Ichiro's caliber you have to take it- i think you might be overvalueing Murtons Potential as well as Marshall and Gallagher- they are young unproven commodities- I think i couldnt say yes fast enough( if Ichiro wanted to sign an extension) I think you will find that potential is almost always valued above production when it comes to our prospects. Murton: .297/.365/.444, 103 OPS+, 25 years old, making 6 figures and under team control until the 2012 season Ichiro: .322/.370/.416, 109 OPS+, 33 years old, making 8 figures and a year away from Free Agency And we're adding Jones, Gallagher, and Marshall? Murton= platoon parter with Cliff Floyd. Ichiro= actual protection in the lineup for Soriano. Murton= average at best defense. Ichiro= actuall improves our outfield defense, which might very well be atrocious this year. Yeah, I see your point. You shouldnt be so rude when you make such a bad argument.
  16. Prove it! How is Benson a step up from Jones? Success rates were similar last year, but Benson had higher DVOA. I also think Benson is in the "improving" category while Jones' production may be stagnant or declining. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/rb.php Football sabermetrics for the win! Benson had a higher DVOA then these running backs as well: Larry Johnson, Tiki Barber, Steven Jackson, and Frank Gore. You think Kansas City will trade LJ for Ced Benson. Maybe we can get a pick from them also? DVOA only tells part of the story, albeit a compelling one. BTW I Love them both, and im excited for Benson to get 260 plus carries. Way to miss the entire point. Albert Pujols is slightly better than Derrek Lee, should we trade for Albert Pujols immediately? Just because someone is marginally better than someone else doesn't mean they need to be replaced immediately. All KaiserCesar was saying was that the loss of Thomas Jones wasn't a big deal because Benson is more than capable of playing just as well, if not better. Benson certainly didn't get as many carries as those other backs, so he might be suffering from "low sample size syndrome" Another recent sufferer is Matt Murton from 2005. I think you are missing his point. He was saying the Ced had a better DVOA than a bunch of the top backs in the league. He is saying that DVOA doesn't tell the whole story, because Bensen is not on those other back's level yet.
  17. If the Bears find a way to trade up and get Quinn, no matter what I'm happy. I would be too. Both as a Dolphins and a Bears fan. The Dolphins really need to accumumlate as many draft picks as possible and build for the future and the Bears could use a real franchise quarterback. I like Rex, but I don't believe he can do it. With Jones now gone, there's going to be even more pressure on the quarterback to perfom.
  18. Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N5MbTdfJTw Wow. That's gotta be one of the plays of the year. It has nothing on this one against Arkansas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ5dh2wpTw4 look how far up his head is Yeah his head was about to hit the backboard haha
  19. I'm a Dolphins/Bears fan. I do not want McMichael on the Bears. He's a pretty good pass catcher and playmaker, but he is a horrible blocker. He also tends to go in spurts where he'll drop a bunch of passes. He's a good player, but I don't think he fits in well with what the Bears are trying to do. I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of deal with the Bears and Fins. If Quinn is still there at #9, perhaps the Bears will give a few picks to get him. I think that would fit both teams pretty well. The only problem is the Bears top 2 picks is supposedly only valued at around the 15th pick overall so I don't see it really happening. Anyways, should be exciting to see what happens with both my teams in the next couple of months.
  20. Even if they lost against Milwaukee (on the road), they would have beat them 3 out of 4 this year. Winning 3 out of 4 against any team is good. Milwaukee (with Redd) isn't nearly as bad as their record indicates. With the way Redd was shooting in that game and the fact that it was on the road, I'm very surprised and pleased that we won. Yes, they are inconsistent, but just about every NBA team is. The Bulls are the 2nd best home team in the NBA and just tend to struggle on the road. We are still a very young team and I think we'll get better in road games as time goes on. I'm so excited about this team and its future.
  21. Me too. Nice comparison.
  22. Isn't that about his typical draft slot?
  23. It's not an article. It generally is a little blurb on the side of their top-10 writeups and just is a little add-on. The top-10s and the "best ..." are the best and most important things in these segments. And there isn't much reason for BA to put a lot of time and resources into making it accurate because theres no way they can predict trades, FA signings, top prospects busting, etc...so they do it as just a quick rough estimate. And like Raisin stated, the main purpose of the article is to discuss the top 10 prospects of each team and discuss the recent developments of each team's farm system.
  24. How dare you leave out Mark Grudzielanek and Angel Berroa?
  25. whats up with 7 TOs for Tyrus Thomas? I missed the game but just got back and checked the box score. I'm so happy we didnt trade Deng. The guy consistently puts up 20/7 and is almost always above 50% from the field. Oh yeah, and he's 21!
