  1. through 10 games played and 24 ABs, Lous line is .375/.375/.542 with 1 home run. Not bad, although the fact that his avg. and obp are exactly the same suggests that hes not the most patient hitter on the planet, but who knows, after all the Orioles digging through our old garbage, maybe they've finally found something.
  2. Especially the fact that it was the 2000 draft, which was notoriously bad. Aside from #1 pick Adrien Gonzalez, Adam Wainwright whao was like #28 or 29 was the only player in the 1st round of that draft whose made any kind of major league impact. IE Luis Montanez.
  3. Same could be said about Ryan Braun for the Brewers.
  4. The only logical thing to do is shut him down for the rest of the season. Probably Sabathia too, just to be safe. Wouldnt want anything to happen to him before his big pay day.
  5. Well, theres really no reason to simply win this game or series when we can beat them into submission and remind them why we're where we are and they're where they are.
  6. I didnt realise that Gooz was only 26. I thought he was about 28-29 by now. So maybe there is a chance for him to be what weve hoped for for the past 5 years.
  7. Did he predict hed have a job at the end of the season?
  8. I think I'll sit that one out. 8-0 Brewers sounds about right.
  9. A few base hits by the Cubs and Dodgers Saturday, and it could have easily been 6.5.
  10. Kosuke should be iin the lineup at the 8 spot. As I have stated in the past, there are teams out there that would kill for Kosuke at his least productive at their 8 spot, including the 2 that are chasing us.
  11. Im going with Reed Johnson. I was for the Edmonds sighning from day one. granted, I didnt know exactly how much help hed give us, I would have accepted 2005-2006 numbers off the bench. Reed, on the other hand I didnt expect to make it to the all star break.
  12. 3-homer game in the Lieber start a few months ago. Him and every other Red. Of current and yesteryear. I think Johnny Bench just homered again. Followed by another Bret Boone homerun. Harden wont be letting Chris Sabo, Eric Davis, Barry Larkin, Hal Morris, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, Frank Robinson, Tony Perez, Paul O'Neil Deion Sanders, Adam Dunn, Ken Griffey Jr., Lou Piniella, or any other Reds player leave the park thank you very much.
  13. Taking the ball for your unstoppable, almost juggernautic 1st place Chicago Cubs will be one of our aces http://asthruz.mlblogs.com/_W4Z5790_A-thumb-600x399.jpg Pitching for Dusty Baker, will be Johnny Cueto. Johnny hasnt exactly met expaectations this season, but looking back at Dustys trail of dead arms, much like Homer Baily, he'll probably want to wait for Dusty to leave town before he has any kind of breakout season, or it could be a short career for him. Here he is with a dumb look on his face. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/00zncuKbOvggr/340x.jpg I know its supposedly unrealistic to expect sweeps, but lets face it, the 2 Reds that have tormented us in the past have moved on, so Im expecting it. and then Im expecting to sweep the Natspos.
  14. Seems like we are having this conversation a lot lately, whether it's okay to expect a series sweep. I expect the Cubs to go 5-1 against CIN and WSH. Its okay to expect anything you want. Hell, I can expect to win the lottery if I want, doesnt mean its going to happen. With that in mind, Im expecting to sweep the Reds or Nats. Im not guaranteeing anything, just expecting it.
  15. So we go home to DBR with no Volquez, and more importantly, no Dunn or Griffey. One of those no excuse not to sweep series'.
  16. Great job by Marmol. I dont know why wed use a bazooka to take out a mosquito, but whatever works. If anyone told me wed end this road trip at 5-1, theyd probably have gotten a few of these
  17. I thought you said it was with the Nats.
  18. Looks like the Dodgers have wasted no time in beating up the Brewers worthless former Cardinals starter.
  19. Cotts looked very sharp. 4 more outs and we fry these fishies.
  20. I hope with every ounce of hope I have that we don't go into next season with Johnson as our only CFer. No, Felix will probably be his backup.
  21. Pooyakah! Seriously, if Reed can keep hitting righties, we wont have to worry about a platoon partner for him next year.
  22. Good. Now hopefully, somehow Lou can charge something into this lifeless bunch.
  23. 15 innings and counting of horrible baseball. Seriusly, their pitching has not looked that good.
