  1. Im thinking the key to winning this one will be to keep Bob Howry as far from the mound as possible.
  2. Has anyone seen that lineup the Astros have out there today? Erstad Bourn Wiggington Berkman Blum Pence Newhan Quintaro Moehler.
  3. Seriously, just give the man some runs. he only needs 3.
  4. He may as well have left his bat in the infield, cause he had no chance at that one.
  5. I predict Votto gos yard, and its the only run scored until the 8th when the Cubs come alive, but leaving Harden with another ND.
  6. Someone must have forgot to put a quarter in the RBI machine.
  7. Another man on 2nd with 0 out. Hopefully we can cash this one in.
  8. If your going to lose an early no-no, better it be early than later.
  9. I suppose if bad Soriano has to show up for a few games, Id rather it be vs. the Reds and Nats.
  10. Lastros have no chance, we can't even assume they'll score. With Sheets, there at least the chance that they'll get to the pen.
  11. As a team, the Cubs dont have a lot of holes in their game, but base running seems to be a bit of a weakness.
  12. Especially the fact that it was the 2000 draft, which was notoriously bad. Aside from #1 pick Adrien Gonzalez, Adam Wainwright whao was like #28 or 29 was the only player in the 1st round of that draft whose made any kind of major league impact. IE Luis Montanez. Chase Utley was the Phillies 1st round pick in the 2000 draft. He turned out to be ok  OK, you have Adrian Gonzales at 1, Rocco Baldelli at 6, Utley at 15, and Wainwright at 29, but look at the rest of round 1 http://www.mymlbdraft.com/2000
  13. i don't know if i'd pooh-pooh atkins' status as a prospect. he's been able to cut his walk rate down a little bit while maintaining a solid k-rate. it seems like he's been a little lucky on balls in play, but he's maintained solid numbers at AA/AAA and is only 22. he could be a pretty good back of the rotation guy, i think. Yeah, Atkins has grown on me. He's the type of guy you keep expecting to bottom out with his next promotion, and he keeps proving me wrong. At only 22, at the AAA level he definitely has promise, especially considering that most of the I Cubs are pushing 30.
  14. Not really. He's missed a week. Its niot that, its without him, the offense isnt any better than the Reds. The only reason they made it through his absence was that they played the Nationals and Padres.
