  1. So the cubs lose this series, then? Have you ever been positive in your entire life? Of course. Just not about our ballclub. So then why even bother watching if you can't even muster up positivity (er, realism, actually) during the best season any of us have seen? I'm addicted. :? mkay. Something tells me when the cubs are celebrating a WS championship on the field you are going to be complaining about how they didnt deserve it. Wrong. In the extremely unlikely event that happens, I will be quite pleased. So give me some reason behind your belief that the cubs will lose this series. What about being the best team in the National League makes then a lesser team than the brewers. Especially when we have home field advantage considering our ridiculous record at home this year. I'm expecting our offense to be overmatched by the Dodgers pitching and our woeful middle relief to be horribly exposed. Maybe we'll get lucky and Soriano will get super hot and carry us to victory in the division series. I'll be a little more confident should we make it to a seven game series. I knew I knew you from somewhere http://www.virginmedia.com/microsites/movies/slideshow/top-ten-movie-robots/img_6.jpg
  2. The Yankees, Mets, and Red Sox would like tothank the Cardinals for officially putting every respectable free agent pitcher out of every teams price range but their own.
  3. Defintely advantage White Sox here. The Twins suck away from home, and the Sox dominate at home.
  4. Look on the bright side - you could make some serious cash. I bought 2 tickets to the 200 level behind the third base dugout (215) at face value (40 a piece) and sold them on ebay for $400. You can make some serious bank off those. Or you could pull an all nighter and do the damn paper tonight. Whats a little lack of sleep compared to a playoff game?
  5. Gammons thinks Derek Lowe is still on the Red Sox. This is probably Lowe's best season since his big 02 season with the Sox. Can't take anything away from Lowe. He's been good. But, he's like anyone else on the road. Lowe is good, and will get a contract to match in the offseason, but if given the choice between facing the number 1 pitcher of every playoff team, Id take my chances with Lowe.
  6. Brewers kill leftys, so if they can steal this one away, with CC probably pitching twice, you never know.
  7. If the Mets make a deal with us, they're going to want Marmol. They're biggest need is pitching, and if they were to trade as Reyes or a Beltran, it wouldnt be a salary dump, it would be to aquire some front line pitching for either the rotation or the pen. If they were to send a top of the line player, they would want 1 in return, and believe me, if they were to offer up either of those guys, teams would be lining up with better offers than Theriot and Samardzjia. They know Zambrano isnt available, and Harden has a year left under team control, so Marmol is they only guy who fits that bill.
  8. From rotoworld Looks like Sheets is in fact done for. I really dont see the Brewers getting to that 2nd CC start. I wonder how many innings Gallardo will have in him. After all, he shut down the Mightly Pirates for 4 innings, so he must be ready.
  9. Looks like the "Dream Team" is going to end their season as they played the majority of it. Very poorly. If I was the Tigers ownership, Id keep Mags, Cabrera, Granderson, and Verlander, melt down the rest, and pretend that 2008 never happened.
  10. Freddy is pitching for a contract next season and Ozzie didn't think he'd hack it this year. Quite a bit of motivation for Garcia. I wonder if Bob Howry has family on every team in the NL. Im just saying.
  11. Marmol, Theriot and Samardjia for Reyes-I really dont see such a thing as a possibility, but if it was, who would be for it?
  12. Sell Theriot high, and sign Renteria for cheap.
  13. Im guessing Pie is on. Hes a big asset as a defensive replacement/pinch runner. the last spot will be between Ward and Hoffpauir, probably Ward. As for Howry, there 1 guy in Chicago who trusts him, and unfortunately, he happens to be the guy who decides the rosters.
  14. http://www.shoutmouth.com/content/baseball-fans/fwmlbfeature/Cubs5.jpg Is this more to your liking?
  15. If Lohse is worth $10+ mil a year (and he's not), Dempster should be worth $20-25 mil a year. Wow, that would be a dumb signing by Mozeliak. CC Sabathia will now be worth a mid sized European nation.
  16. Hey, at least he throws strikes which get hit hard. And dont forget he always keeps his cool as he watches the ball sail over his head onto waveland, and remains calm and collected as he serves up the next meatball.
  17. So what happens if this gae were rained out? Would they make them play the Tigers tommorow and the Twins wednesday, or make them run the gauntlet tommorow?
  18. keep em coming http://wecite.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/megan_fox_gq_02.jpg
  19. I say Manny to the Dodgers was the best thing that ever happened to us. Otherwise, wed likely be facing a D-Bags team with Webb, Haren, Johson, and of course, Adam Dunn.
  20. This is a team that entered the season as practiacly the undisputed favorites to win the whole thing, and ended up in dead last, in one of the weaker divisions in the game. You dont think that they'll want to make one of their rivakls pay? They'll be treating this like their world series.
  21. Keep Bob Howry far, far away from the pitchers mound. I mean even further than in normal circumstances.
  22. I dont think that Lou will let it come down to that. He knows whats up with Bob. No crucial situations for him.
  23. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2005/11/29/r48C5sPl.jpg Indeed a dark moment in Cubs history. You can almost tell on Hendrys face that hes done something awful.
