  1. I chose an awsome time to turn the TV on. Literally, as the ball was leaving his bat. What happened to Oswalt anyway?
  2. I actually like these kinds of moves. just a player for a player. Its not about money or anything. 2 players with no use to their current team, so why not see if they have better luck elsewhere. Reminds me of the Jason DuBois for Jody Gerut trade. No winners or losers, but just a swap.
  3. I remember there was something between him and the scorekeepers last year when they charged him with an error and he got on them about it. I dont remember how far it went though.
  4. all we need him to be be, at least once Soto returns.
  5. Too bad we werent more vocal before DeRosa was traded or Miles was signed.
  6. You mean when we get John Grabow and Jack Wilson for Jay Jackson, Chris Carpenter, and Starlin Castro?
  7. Hoffpauirs the one who should be sent down. I know, hes our lefty power that gets ahold of 1 once in a blue moon between awkword looking strikeouts, but he has options and other than being lefty, he serves the same purpose as Fox, maybe a bit better defensively but a lot worse offensively. The problem is, who is this mythical replacement catcher who can hit? I guess we could bring up Robinson and hope for lightening in a bottle until Soto returns, but his AAA numbers dont look like theyd traslate into big league succes. I guess we could just trade for Greg Zaun or something of the like. dude, i don't mean to be a jerk, but didn't you want Hoffpauir starting over Derrek Lee like six weeks ago?. Yeah, that change of heart is hilarious. If your refering to May when Lee was hitting in the high .100s/low .200s and everyone and there mother was shouting Free Micah Hoffpauir, then yeah, guilty as charged. Bsides, you cant deny that none of us thought that wed ever see this side of D Lee again.
  8. The only way Id take Grabow is as a throw in in a deal for Sanchez. Otherwise, Id rather give Gaub a shot and wait to see what Ryan can do.
  9. I don't think he did last Christmas, but I'll have to check the box scores. Actually, it seems to me that weve done a pretty good job keeping him in check this year. Maybe Fred has the stats to see.

  11. Yes, that has been proven by the last couple of weeks. Absolutely. No small sample size here. The fact is Kosukes doing fine at leadoff. Sorianos doing great at the 6 spot. More importantly, were winning, and as long as it stays that way, lets not disturb the formula.
  12. The problem with Koyie isnt Koyie, its Fontenot and Baker. If we has a more adequate bat between the 2, we could live with Koyie Hill in the everyday lineup until Soto returns, but we need another bat down there or else the 7-9 spots in the lineup are a black hole. We dont have a bat to replace Font or Baker, but we have one to replace Hill.
  13. Absolutely stupid on the Astros' part. Streaky as he is and as bad as his night was the guy's numbers over the last 2+ weeks are scalding hot. Just one of those desperation moves hoping for a force at every base. They knew that with Bradley, Soriano, and Fox due up, one of them would be able to lift the ball into the outfield and theyd lose anyway.
  14. Or at least if it was Valverde.
  15. Looked the same way on our broadcast. It seemed like a weak out until the CF started jogging off the field It definitely looked like Bourn was going to catch it in shallow center, but Ill take that over one of those routine pop ups that the cameras make look Waveland bound.
  16. I know this doesnt need its own thread, but it now has one. He did just fine for himself. Much like at 3rd, hes far from gracefull, but he gets the job done. Had we not gone messing around with the likes of Ryan Freel, Aaron Miles, and Bobby Scales when Aramis was out and put Fox at 3rd, we might have won some of those close games. If Fontenot or Baker were more competant with the bat, we could live with Koyie Hill as an 8 hitter, but since we dont, we have Fox, and thats a nice bat to have everyday.
  17. Kind of like using a tank to kill a mosquito, but if it gets the job done, it gets the job done.
  18. That'll work. And that was just Sampsons 2nd home run given up this year if I heard right?
  19. Dont botch this. This isnt May or June.
  20. Im not seeing why we cant give Fox a shot behind the plate more often to get his bat in the lineup.
  21. TIFLARV The Inning Fontenot Lost All Remaining Value It was more Lou than Font. we had 2 chances just to get a ball into the dam outfield, which Font did, but unfortunately Lou had to make that idiotic squeeze attempt before it.
  22. Please, please, please just end it here. We definitely have the right guys coming up.
