  1. Is Sean Marshal injured? We havnt seem much of him lately.
  2. I wouldnt refer to these guys as top prospects, at least not top 10, but some guys we should startto take seriously are Michael Brenley, Kyler Burke, Marquez Smith, and Rebel Ridling.
  3. All I know is hes a bat we need to get in the lineup whenever we can, and if that makes Milton Bradley a really expensive 4th outfielder, then so be it.
  4. Im really starting to wonder if Bobby Scales could be the best of our garbage 2nd basemen.
  5. I don't think everybody thinks that Rhee and LeMahieu should be in there. There is also no chance Tyler Colvin makes my top 10. EDIT: Also, some people may not think Brett Jackson should be that high. I didnt put Colvin in that list, just that hed be my #10.
  6. I sort of hope Mateo gets kept around. I think his stuff plays better for the pen, as the development on the 3rd pitch just hasn't happened by some accounts. Hes 25 and hasnt been above AA. Hes a nice guy to keep around, but if you need that ope spot on the 40 man, hes one of those guys you can part with.
  7. While I do stand by Colvin as my number 10, I think Casey Coleman deserves some consideration as a darkhorse.
  8. Basiacally, everyones seems in agreence that the top 9 are, in some order Vitters, Cashner, Jackson, Jackson, Carpenter, Rhee, Lee, Castro, LeMehieu, and number 10 is up for debate.
  9. Scott Boras could care less how much the fans cheer. The whole thing reminds me of the Carlos Beltran/Astros situation. Carlos liked Houston. He wanted to play for a small market team. Didnt quite work out that way, did it?
  10. I cant see any non injury related scenerio in which hes brought up by the 10th, so unless hes willing to hang around Iowa until September, it looks liek the BJ Ryan era could end before it begins.
  11. This just popped up on rotoworld, so I guess thats the end of that.
  12. doubtful. very doubtful. Id assume that thyed take him out of the closer role and see how he does in middle relief long before theyd DFA him. The only other thing I could imagine is if they waived him for the sake of making a trade.
  13. I really think that between Marmol, Guzman, and Marshall, we have a closer for next year, and between those 3, Stevens, Gaub, Grabow, Parker, Berg, Patton, etc, we can put a solid pen together. If they want to pick up a cheap vet to go with them, go for it. The main off season targets should be A. either re sign Harden or aquire another front end starter. B. Aquire a 2nd baseman who can hit. 4th outfielder and backup catcher can be easily found within the system.
  14. The very definition of an unnecessary prepositional phrase. Im not quite sure what you even mean by that. Are you suggesting that our offense sucks in general?
  15. No, they just go home and roll around in a pool of money, hookers, and cadillacs. Of course they care.
  16. Any chance that wed pick him up for one last shot? according to BBR, the guy made $12,800,000, so he'll never starve, so why not sign him to a minor league deal. Someones bound to do it and Id hate for it to be the Cardinals or Brewers.
  17. That's a recipe for disaster. Zambrano doesn't want to pitch in relief, Lou is tempted to pitch him in relief. I can see the following scenario play out. Zambrano gets up to warm up, sits down because he doesn't need to enter the game, his back tightens up; and then he can't pitch on Friday. and then hes hit by a cab.
  18. Cubs The good Phillies-3 Dodgers-4 Cards-3 Giants-4 White Sox-1 15 games The meh Rockies-4 Mets-6(all depends on if theyre healthy by then Brewers-7 Astros-3 20 games The bad Reds-6 Pirates-9 Padres-3 Nationals-3 21 games Cards The Good Marlins-3 Cubs-3 Dodgers-3 9 games the meh Braves-3 Brewers-6 Rockies-3 Astros-6 18 games the bad The injured Mets-2 Pirates-6 Reds-5 Padres-7 Nats-3 23 games I put the Mets as a bad team for the Cards since its this week and they'll have the B team going, and for us, they may or may niot have their regulars back by the time we get to them. Seems like the schedule gives the Cards a slight advantage, but the good thing is that we have enough games vs. the Rockies and Giants that we have the chance to take the Wild Card race into our own hands if it comes doen to that.
  19. I just realised, as of yesterday, it happened. Yup, in just under half the games, Jake Fox is tied with Milton Bradley for home runs and has 1 more RBI. He cant be much worse than Milton in the outfield, can he? I say put him out there. I figure, whether Fox or Bradley is playing, were paying the same amount of money.
  20. I guess we did take the season series 4-3, so theres that.
  21. Too bad we cant appreciate a guy whose given us nothing but consistancy for the past 4 years just because he doesnt OPS .900.
  22. Lets sweep Dusty and his Reds, split with the Rockies and come home with a 6-4 road trip. Sounds like a plan to me.
