It's not as if the beer-throwing wouldn't have gotten national airtime ad nauseum if the game weren't on ESPN tonight. I don't know. TV networks seem to avoid putting poor fan behavior on shows. Either way, the idiot cub fan stereotype lives on. We can always revel in the fact that our fans never tried to beat up an old man first base coach or an umpire. No but a guy did attack Bob Howry. Granted, Howry desrved it, but still.

Screw that, the Phillies KNOW we suck. They should at least give us a chance and not have beaten the crap out of a guy who had no business pitching in a major league baseball game. I hope they're ashames of themselves.

Seriously, Im not even worried about winning, I just want these guys to prove that they can score some damn runs off an over the hill ace who hasnt pitched in a big league game in over the year. If they want to come back and win, more power to them.

I have to commend you for calmly posting the play by play through all this madness. fred's a robot ....but I'm such an icredible robot, I can do all this, congratulate you on 20,000 posts, and issue a warning to WSR..... all at the same time !!!! wait, why am I being warned where I wasnt the instigator? Calling someone an optimist is far from an insult.

Oh man, the life lectures from the guy who spazzes out and basically lives here are hysterical. "I'm going to make fun of this guy for being online and posting in a game thread on amessage board on a Wedensday night by being online and positing in a game thread on a message board on a Wedensday night. IT'S FOOLPROOF." Yeah, we both spend too much time obsessing about a bad baseball team, at least Im willing to admit it and leave it at that. You do realize that not everyone who is a fan of this team doesn't act like everything is the end of the world or is actually "obsessed" with the team, right? It's this same type of thinking that leads you to brand anyone who doesn't act like the world is coming to an end and being a Cubs fan is such a horrible thing everytime they do poorly or something goes wrong as an "optimist." Hey, I just refered to you as an optimist, never even said it was a bad thing and you decided to get all personal about it.

Are you sure Sam Fuld can't play all three outfield positions? Maybe its time for Lou to complete his voyage to toon town and put Grabow, Marmol, and Wells in the outfield.

Even if we do leave a trail of carnage between the Reds, Nationals, Brewers, Astros, and Pirates, if it is enough to make it to the post season, wed run right into these guys or the Dodgers, and then this will happen.
