  1. I would like to think that they'll everythin in their power to resign Harden next year, however, I think it time to put Gregg, Heilman, and Johnson through waivers and see if they're worth anything.
  2. Oh, okay. While I do agree with Arthur that the seasons essentialy over, and as far as were concerned, it should be accepted, but eb is right as well in that the players shouldnt have that attitude. Theres still 5-6 weeks left of baseball, and if they continue to play like they just want it to be over, it wont be enjoyable for anyone. I know were not even really playing spoiler ball as most of the teams we play are nowhere near contention, it would be nice to turn on a game once and a while and see a team that wants to win and show us that these players are worth a damn and can make it happen next year.
  3. Can't play RF and had a rep as not being a solid RBI guy. So then hed fit in perfectly with the Cubs.
  4. Watching the Cards get smoked in the playoffs by the Phillies then watching Holliday bolt for a major market team will be fun to see. Take it for what it is worth but .... Matt Holliday enrolled his son in a St. Lois area school. Having his son go to one school has been his primary focus on his next contract. He will be a Cardinal next year. School starts these next few weeks for everyone, some already have. Was he supposed to let his kid take the first semester off until he decided where hes going to play next year?
  5. Yeah, we really need the old Lou if hes going to be back. Might I suggest locking him in a celler and play non stop Alfonso Soriano, Geovany Soto, and Aaron Miles game footage, all while feeding him nothing but Tang and Grape Nuts throughout the entire off season?
  6. If he was on waivers, someone would have definitely claimed him, especially considering the 2nd half hes having. We should hang on to him and make resigning him an off season priority.
  7. Starlin Castro went 2-4 with a double and also drew a walk. Good to see him getting the hang of things in AA. Colvin also had a 2B.
  8. Keep it up losers, we still have a shot at Bryce Harper.
  9. Starlin seems to be starting to get it togther in Tennessee. And the they please bring Jax back to AA already? If they want to punish him by costing him wins due to bad defense, just send him to the Cubs.
  10. Do you honestly think someone would claim him? You never know. The Jays probably didnt think that Rios would be claimed. The best bet would be a contending team atempting to block the team aboove them. I could see the Red Sox claiming him to block the Yankees or the Giants to block the Dodgers. Whatever happens, Sorianos on his way to being the most hated man in Chicago since Gacy.
  11. Last I heard the team wasn't going to bring him back and the fans and players were doing all they could to change that. I never heard what happened. It's been a couple months. Japanese baseball needs Valentine. I hope he stays there. Hes already said he plans to come back and see if he can get a big league gig. Hes burned a lot of bridges, but Id love to see what he could do here.
  12. Something having to do with our GM being a complete idiot, but I cant be sure.
  13. If hes as big a Cubs fan as a he says, his first order of business will be dumping Aaron Miles.
  14. Ive said this before and Ill say it again. Try the same thing that the Blue Jays did with Rios. If someones foolish enough to claim him, let them enjoy him and his albatross of a contract.
  15. That makes 2 of us. The wife owes me for the Time Travellers effing Wife, which was almost as fun to watch as the past 2 weeks of Cobs baseball.
  16. 1. Sam Fuld CF 2. Ryan Theriot SS 3. Derrek Lee 1B 4. Aramis Ramirez 3B 5. Kosuke Fukudome RF 6. Jake Fox LF 7. Jeff Baker 2B 8. Koyie Hill C 9. Ted Lilly P
  17. Hopefully it ends with Soriano in the intensive care unit of the local hospital. Add Soto. His cholesterol level will land him there.
  18. The Cubs offense vs. the knuckle baller. That will end well. And please change the thread title. Theres nothing super about this team.
  19. Hopefully it ends with Soriano in the intensive care unit of the local hospital.
  20. This pile of horse crap that some call a ball club owe Randy Wells dinner. I really hate them.
  21. I honestly think he could be a Scott Podsednik type leadoff hitter if given the chance. I know a lot of people dont apreciate that type of thing, but sometimes, that "sparK" can be very important to a team, especially one that struggles to put runs on the board.
  22. I wish there were a way to get Fuld in every game.
  23. Sure looks like Aramis Ramirez and the Cubs offense are going to cost Randy Wells a loss. tough break kid.
