  1. I really dont see Hudson happening, especially when Baker and Fontenot are a more than sufficient platoon. However, I would not be surprised at all to see one of the righties signed as a 4th or platoon outfielder. Nothing against Fuld or Hoff, but we need another righty off the bench.
  2. Ive long since admitted the stupidity of the thread, but in my defense, theres little doubt that it is what Bradley is thinking.
  3. I get it, the lesson to be learned here is think before you post.
  4. To answer my own qustion, I checked that website, and its basically one where people can upload a picture and create their own fake newpaper add. Kind of a funny concept, but whoever wrote the article could have at least made it amusing.
  5. A friend of mine sent me this on facebook.its basiclly Milton expressing his hatred toward Cubs and Cubs fans. I dont know about the website, but does anyone know if this is for real or a joke site like The Heckler or Onion? http://www.tauntr.com/sites/default/files/Bradley_letter_master.jpg
  6. Billy Beane has taught him well, at least in that aspect.
  7. The Os might be a solid team this year, but sadley, good enough to finish 4th, 3rd if they're lucky.
  8. I really have nothing against giving a chance to Fuld and Hoffpauir, but the fact is that we could really use some extra righty pop off the bench, be it Gomes, Dye, Baldelli, or whoever.
  9. That's ridiculous. This was just a bad contract all around. And to think who was the predicted destination for him the year the contract was signed.
  10. With the addition of Kouz and the re signing of Jack Cust, I wonder what that will mean for Jake Fox. does he have any options left?
  11. Id very much like that as well, but unfortuantely, I think that no matter what he does in ST hes in the back of the line behind Gorz, Marshall, Shark, and Silva and will start the season in Iowa.
  12. If you want to invite Mulder to spring training with no obligation, knock yourself out, but thats about all. Just shell out for Sheets.
  13. Life as a baseball fan was easier when I was a kid and the only stats I looked for on a baseball card were avg. and home runs for a hitter and Wins and ERA for a pitcher.
  14. What Lou and Jim are saying is that the current rotation is satisfactory, which it is. Unfortunately, satisfactory will get you around a .500 record, maybe a figting chance at the playoffs. However, when an oportunity arrises improve upon satisfactory, if the price is right, you have to take it, especially when as of now, our team is very much a contender, though not a favorite. A healthy Sheets might not make us the favorite for the division, but it would be a definite improvement.
  15. Of all the free agents recently rumored to have peaked the Cubs interest, who is the most likely to sign? Not who you want, who you expect
  16. If we had a healthy Xavier Nady, as far as Im concerned, Marlon Byrds our 4th outfielder.
  17. clubhouse cancer my ass. If I was getting paid millions to play baseball for 7-8 months a year, for all I care they could put me on a team with Hitler, Bin Laden, and Miley Cyrus. It shouldnt make a difference. If you dont like a team mate, for a few hours a day, you put up with the guy and then you go home. Nobody said you have to be friends.
  18. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/jays-gm-sticks-to-his-guns/article1434416/Take it for what it's worth. Hopefully it's true, just not for the $10-12m he wants a year. Im done taking stock in any of those types of statements. If there was any truth to those types of things, Brian Roberts, Jake Peavy, and Mike Cameron would all be Cubs by now.
  19. He needs to more than lay off the Twinkies and Ho Hos before he earns that back.
  20. Judging by that video, it looks like he also turned into a white guy.
  21. If we had the option, Id rather pay someone like Dye or Ankiel 2 mil than Byrnes 500K.
  22. Technically, theres no way of telling that guys like Aaron, Mays and Mantle werent. Steroids have been out there since the 30's.
  23. Kouz may not be a superstar, but he was one of the few guys resembling a major league baseball player left on that team. The Pads need to hope some team is willing to empty out their farm system for Bell and Gonzalez because they are years away from resembling anything close to a major league ball club. Im surprised they havnt contacted Lou Brown to be their next manager yet.
