  1. Fukus hit a lot of rockets to infielders today. Hopefully he bucks that trend here.
  2. Not a great move taking out the loogy for Theriot with Fukudome on deck, but whatever.
  3. So wait, this kids a "rock star"? Keith Moon would use him as a urinal.
  4. Lets have a 3 run Tyler bomb right here.
  5. Local band. "Hey there Delilah" Oh yeah. I hate that song.
  6. LOL at the fans cheering Lou taking out Soriano and boing Soriano off the field.
  7. Hopefully these clowns have a few runs left in em.
  8. Dont walk pitchers Randy. You know the offense doesnt tend to score for you.
  9. Yeah, we had him. Awesome call by the ump. A lot of em wouldnt have called him out and got no arguement from the Cubs.
  10. Randy looking pretty bad ass early on here. I wonder if hes been having some 1 on 1 time with Mad Dog.
  11. While Im not actively rooting for Bradley to fail, Im not going to feel sorry for him in the '11-'12 offseason when no team will touch him with a 10 foot pole and he blames whitey, the media, and pretty much everyone else but himself.
  12. Is this asshat serious? Did nobody tell the O Dogg about the 3 mil that Dye turned down from the Cubs because he wouldnt get enough playing time or the 4 mil he turned down from the Nats because it wasnt enough to uproot his family, not to mention the reported multiple deals in the 1 mil neighborhood he turned down? Basically, major league baseballs racist because nobody wants to offer a declining 36 year old a multi year deal near home and a starting job. Guys in their late 30's are no longer in demand. Jim Thome took a 1 year deal with a limited role. Jim Edmonds took a minor league deal with an invite. When your old and on the decline, you cant be picky. Race doesnt enter into it.
  13. If The Cubs ever actually made that offer for A-Gon then they should be banished from MLB just on principle alone. Were talking 1 year of A Gon here. However, Vitters, Cashner, Theriot, and Colvin might be more realistic. I guess a lot of it depends on what kind of year Vitters has. The kid isnt even old enough to drink yet and can still re-estblish himself as a top prospect.
  14. We may end up having to part with a lot. Vitters would be the centerpeice. we might have to throw them Jay Jackson as well as HJ Lee or Logan Watkins. The point is, it would be worth it. Maybe even with Cashner in the mix instead of Jackson. Gonzalez is one of the true elite in the game and we could get him in his absolute prime. Problem is, he'll probably want a deal at least at Mark Teixara money. However, with Lee and Lilly off the books in 2011, and Fukudome in 2012, Adrian is the kind of basket worth putting all your eggs in.
  15. This needs to be our next offseason target. Assuming the Padres excercise his 2011 option, and it would be foolish not to, it will be for the purpose of trading him. Naturally, despite the fact that he'll only have 1 year of team control, a lot of teams will be after him. The question is, how much is too much? assuming we plan on offering an immediate extension, and with Lilly and Lees contracts, among others off the books we should be able to afford him without a problem. This is the guy to build a team around. Would Vitters, Colvin, and Theriot, be too much or too little for 1 guaranteed year of him? Maybe throw in another decent prospect(not Castro os Cashner) if we can get something else out of it? If we wait until the offseason, will it be too late?
  16. What kind of worthless pitcher gives up a home run to a bum like Ryan Braun? Release him at once.
  17. that is the silver lining. hopefully lou goes with him. Mully and Hanley talked with Ricketts on the show this this morning. One thing I found especially disturbing is when the asked him about Lous future, he said it was up to Jim (Hendry). This leads me to believe that not only will Jim be sticking around, but Lou as well, if he chooses.
  18. See the thing that gets me with Soriano is ok fine whatever, he cant hit anymore(or hasnt yet) but for the love of [expletive] God quit being a [expletive] about a god damn wall and catch a fly ball. Hell the pop fly he had pop out of his glove he wasnt even near the [expletive] wall, and yet hes still scared of the damn thing. If hes not going to hit then at least catch a fly ball. If he cant hit anymore, thats not fine. He was ridiculously over paid because of his bat. We knew his defense would be some degree of a liability from the get go. And we have almsot 5 more years of this. 5 [expletive] years. My unborn baby will be getting ready for kindergarten by the time we finally rid ourselves of him. Its not like Kosuke where when his bat inevidibly dissapears sometime in June can still make a difference in right field. I guess the firdt sign is when we signed him to be a power hitte and RBI producer and he insisted on hitting leadoff. KInd of like if we signed Mariano Rivera to a massive deal and he insisted on pitching the 7th.
  19. Well, maybe. If Nadys 100% and can throw the ball, theres little doubt in my mind that hed be better than what weve seen from Soriano so far this season.
  20. Well, maybe. If Nadys 100% and can throw the ball, theres little doubt in my mind that hed be better than what weve seen from Soriano so far this season.
  21. To have a firesale dont you need to have expensive players someone else would want? A lot of teams would like to have Lee, Lilly, and Ramirez. Probably Fukudome too.
  22. Colvin and Nady would both be better options than Soriano. I know its probably not a good idea to just give up on a guy like Soriano, considering how much hes making and what hes capabale of doing, but hes just looked lost in the field and at the plate. Same goes for Soto, but we dont have any other option over him. Who knows, maybe someone like Castillo or Clevenger will have a breakout season in the minors like Soto did in '07.
